Final Testing for Patch 2.2.0 on the PTR

Hotfixes and leaderboard resets roll out on the patch 2.2.0 Public Test Realm

Diablo III Public Test Realm
Diablo III Patch 2.2 is expected to go live next Tuesday, April 7. Even at this late date, there are hotfixes and leaderboard resets rolling out on the Public Test Realm. The latest Blizzard Blues detailed those fixes, along with info about the upcoming Era reset.

Era 3 Immediately Follows Era 2
Season 2 will end the evening of Sunday, April 5. The non-Seasonal Era competition of Era 2 will also wrap up at that time. Era 3 will begin right after Era 2 ends, while Season 3 won't start until the following Friday.
The end of Season 2 is fast approaching, and with it, the end of our second Era.

In Diablo III, an “Era” refers to a specific period of time in which non-Seasonal leaderboards are active. At the end of an Era, all current non-Seasonal leaderboard standings will be wiped and players will be unable to attain new leaderboard ranks until a new Era begins. Similar to Seasons, players will be able to view previous rankings in-game and as well as on our website.

Similar to Era 1, Era 2 will be ending alongside Season 2 on Sunday, April 5. Era 3 will begin immediately afterward, while Season 3 is expected to begin on Friday,
April 10
.

At the end of Season 2, all heroes created during the Season will become non-Seasonal and will be able to compete on the Era 3 leaderboards. For more information on the end of the Season and upcoming Season rollover, click here.

Thank you for participating in Era 2! We look forward to seeing you in Sanctuary.

Patch 2.2.0 PTR Hotfixes
The last-minute bug fixes and tweaks continue for patch 2.2.0 on the Public Test Realm. A group of hotfixes were pushed live, to get the patch in solid order before it is released.
The below hotfixes are now live:

General
  • Fixed a number of issues that would result in the game crashing (4/1)
    • Note: One of these fixes has reset the increased blood shard cap for players who have hit high Greater Rift levels. This is a PTR-only issue and can be resolved by completing another high-level Greater Rift.
  • Players who did not participate in a Nephalem or Greater Rift are no longer able to talk to Orek to close them (4/1)
  • The Greater Rift countdown timer should no longer overlap with NPC health bars (4/1)

Items
  • Broken Promises
    • Non-critical hits that occur while the 100% Critical Hit buff is active no longer count toward activating the buff again (4/1)
      • This is to prevent situations in which abilities that do not crit are able to provide 100% uptime of this buff
  • Tal Rasha's Elements
    • Fixed an issue where the 4-piece power was erroneously increasing Resistances by 200% instead of 100% (4/1)
  • Raiment of a Thousand Storms
    • Fixed an issue where the 4-piece bonus would only charge 50 Spirit instead of the 75 Spirit indicated by the tooltip (4/1)

Monsters
  • Orlash - Rift Guardian
    • Orlash's melee attacks no longer inflict a healing reduction debuff (4/1)
  • Fixed an issue where Exorcists would deal unusually high damage in Greater Rift Trials when two or more players are in the game (4/1)

Barbarian
  • Whirlwind
    • Rune - Dust Devils
      • Fixed an issue where tornados would not spawn if a Barbarian was too close to certain walls (4/1)

Wizard
  • Hydra
    • Fixed an issue where Hydra was gaining a larger than intended bonus from the Tal Rasha's 6-piece (4/1)

PTR Leaderboard Reset
One bug fixed in those hotfixes took care of an issue with Wizards using Hydra and the Tal Rasha's set. The leaderboards on the test server were reset, to better gauge the final strength of the revamped set in the new patch.
The PTR has been brought down for a short period of time to deploy several hotfixes. In addition, we will be wiping the following Seasonal and Non-Seasonal leaderboards for both Hardcore and Normal mode:

  • Wizard Solo
  • 2-player
  • 3-player
  • 4-player

For more information regarding the upcoming hotfixes, please keep an eye on our PTR hotfix thread. Thank you for your patience and diligent testing!

It's a busy time for Diablo III. The upcoming week will bring the Season rollover, along with the new Era and finally having patch 2.2.0 on the live servers!
