Alright, take two on this touchy subject. This time, leave the vitriol at the door. This is not a personal issue, there is no reason to be upset with anyone over their opinion on the issue.

On one hand, we have people like me, who think that seasonally exclusive legendaries should be done away with. My reasoning for this is as follows (feel free to add anything that you feel is missing, that's the purpose of the thread):

  • 1. In D3, items are content, keeping content from any game mode where the difficulty and gameplay are the same makes no sense.
  • 2. Bribing players with content to play a mode they would otherwise not play is likely to burn out players on D3 as a whole. I know I'm nearing that point.
    • The reasons that have been given to keep seasonally exclusive legendaries:

  • 1. Getting rid of them could cause a dramatic enough drop in the seasonal playerbase that the mode might die.
    • That is the only one I have been able to discern up to this point. I would argue that if bribing players with more content to make them play a mode they wouldn't play otherwise is the reason for the bribe, that the mode is doomed to fail regardless. People who aren't fans of the seasonal reboot will get burnt out on this process, and will stop playing altogether. Why is it a problem if non-seasonal players go do their thing with the new legendaries, while seasonal players can maintain the integrity of their leaderboards. Seems like a win-win if there is a strong enough demand for the type of ruleset that seasons dictate.

    Please, keep it civil this time. No name calling, no vitriol. I know it is a game we all want to love, and that can inflame passion, but lets try and have a polite discussion about which solution would satisfy the largest portion of the playerbase while doing the least amount of harm to the other portion.
