Cube or Build-related performance issues?(1)Category: PTR Bug ReportsJuly-9-2015 10:21 AM PDT (9 years ago) Go to Blizzard forum post
Greetings Heroes,

With the introduction of Kanai's Cube and all of the new Legendary power combinations that are now possible, we are interested in feedback about any previously unattainable legendary power combination that is causing a decrease in framerate or client performance.

If you are experiencing any issues that you did not experience prior to 2.3 and believe it is related to your character build and/or a combination of Legendary powers you are using, please post here and describe what you are experiencing, and give a detailed overview of the following:

  • Passive Skills
  • Active Skills
  • Runes
  • Legendary Gems
  • Kanai's Cube Powers
  • Paragon Point Distribution
  • Items/Sets Equipped

  • We hope you are all enjoying the PTR, and we appreciate any and all feedback and bug reports that you can provide!

Cube or Build-related performance issues?(20)July-9-2015 2:28 PM PDT (9 years ago) Go to Blizzard forum post
Please note that we aren't looking for bugs with game functionality in this thread. We are *only* seeking information about client performance and/or framerate issues caused by certain combinations of legendary powers and items. If you've got a bug related to the functionality of the cube or anything else going into patch 2.3, please do create a new thread in the PTR Bug Report forums and my team will absolutely take a look!

I've gone through and cleaned out the off-topic posts in this thread and will continue to moderate it actively.

    Thanks, everyone!

I think it is hard to measure at the moment due to the difficulty to login and the lag that comes with it.
Hard to tell what is caused by certain skills/combo and what is caused by server fullness.

Agree. I've experienced lag spikes here and there while latency appears fine, which I suspected may be due to heavy load on the server side.

It would be useful if there were some way to differentiate between server-side lag and client-side lag. Any hints for us here on what we should be looking out for?

Liquid's point is totally fair, and I know it can be frustrating. On the client-side its not super easy to differentiate between client lag and server lag. The best tips I can provide to determine if the lag is being caused by something on the server or something you are doing is to try and repeat the actions you were performing when you noticed the lag. If the lag returns or intensifies while you are doing what you were doing, there's a good chance you are causing it.

Whether you are sure or not, I encourage you to post even if you suspect that your build may be causing the issues. We've got tools internally that we can use to determine whether or not what you are reporting is going to end up being a real problem or not.
