Question of the Day: Seasons?(1)Category: GeneralFebruary-9-2015 8:41 AM PST (9 years ago) Go to Blizzard forum post
Hello forum goers,

Another lame question of the day from yours truely. I've been reading up on these "Seasons" of Diablo 3 and just read the "Patch Notes" for Season 2 coming up in a few days and I am going to sound like a complete noob asking this but what exactly are Seasons in Diablo 3?

Are they record times in beating Greater Rifts or is there something more to them. On top of that, will my character be personally included in this filtration of "Seasonal Characters" as they come to call it.

I'm fairly still new to the whole Diablo thing and I'm just reaching the point where I can survive T6 yay me :) and do some pretty decent damage to npcs and I'm kind of hoping this won't affect my character in anyway.

Could someone clarify this for me :)

Not a lame question at all! We've seen lots of people asking about Season 2 lately, as well as Seasons in general, so you're in good company.

Lupo gives a good basic description above. In addition, here are some important details from our blog post on Seasons, so you'll have a better idea of what to expect:

  • In Seasons, you'll be able to complete specific Achievements called "Conquests," which are unique to each Season.
  • Each Season has Legendary items which are exclusive to Seasonal players until the Season ends. You can find out which ones will be included in Season 2 here.
  • Leveling at least one character to level 70 during a Season is the only way to obtain transmogrification appearances in the Conqueror's Set.

If you'd like to see all that's in store for you in Seasonal play, check out our overview, as well as this preview of Season 2. No matter which class or classes you choose to play during Season 2, I recommend visiting our class subforums. If you ask nicely, you'll find many people who are willing to share tips for improving your build.

Finally, I recommend looking over this great resource, for those who are new to Seasons and getting ready for Season 2, by /u/2games1life over on Reddit Diablo.

Also, grats on surviving Torment 6! Next thing you know, you'll be plowing your way through Greater Rifts without batting an eye. Good luck in Season 2, Smith!
