First of all, don't get me wrong - i love floating damage texts in games, it is very good way to get instant feedback on your performance But...current implementation in endgame (GR50+) makes this feature completely useless. Hits we make are now up to 10 (or 11) digits long a) in active game-play you can't really notice if that hit was in millions (10^6) or in milliards (10^9) b) you don't really care about if it was 9,876,543,210 or 9,876,543,255 hit, in most cases you don't get more that 9,8... and that is it. c) large numbers take too much space and overlaps, making them unreadable, What i suggest is to introduce an option to enable metric prefixes into these numbers: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metric_prefix (10^3) k, (10^6) M, (10^9) G, (10^12) T And choose how much significant figures would you like to see it might look something like that with 3 significant figures: 3,210 --> 3,21k 43,210 --> 43,2k 543,210 --> 543k 6,543,210 --> 6,54M (font size increased) 76,543,210 --> 76,5M 876,543,210 --> 877M 9,876,543,210 ---> 9,88G (font size increased) or like this with 2 significant figures: 3,210 --> 3,2k 43,210 --> 43k 543,210 --> 0,5M (font size increased) 6,543,210 --> 6,5M 76,543,210 --> 76M 876,543,210 --> 0.9G (font size increased) 9,876,543,210 ---> 9,9G |

Just returned to Diablo after few month of other games. I was really exited to see Entries in 2.4.0 PTR patch notes that developers listen to the user feedback and that this feature request was actually implemented. Just wanted to say Thanks! The feedback in this thread was forwarded to developers shortly after it was created, and I definitely think this is a great example on how constructive feedback can influence the development of the game. So I just want to say thanks to all of you guys who keep sharing your feedback :-) |
