Don't listen to all the crying kids.(1)Category: GeneralMay-5-2014 3:58 PM PDT (10 years ago) Go to Blizzard forum post
I've played a variety of MMORPG type games over the last 17 years, and I am tired of seeing the same rants for changes to this game that come from two types of players, and they're both young kids. The first is the young kid who wants to "Beat the Game." The second is the type of kid who wants to get attention as a forum troll, and this is his chosen forum.

The changes made to Diablo 3 with the RoS expansion are HUGELY enjoyable, and this is my analysis as a veteran gamer who has "Beaten" several games including hardcore WoW content.

Allowing trading will not have any positive effect on this game, despite what the crying kids think. If you find good items you are dreaming of trading for something you desire, the lack of a trading option is what allows you to perceive that that desired item has value. If trading is open, a slew of those items sitting in someone's stash will immediately flood the market, players will complete gear sets, and those players will quit because they have nothing to work toward. I've played games where good items were rare or took a lot of work. It is good to have items not everyone can have. If blizzard alters the loot tables or drop rates so players can discern a pattern that allows them to obtain a desired item, then there is no reason to play with other people or explore other ways to play the game. The rarity of these items gives you incentive to play, and if not finding it, you can try playing another character to see if that one has better luck.

I've spent thousands of shards on Kadala without getting a mirror ball. Am I mad? Hell no! If I do get one I'm going to appreciate it, but in the meantime I'll keep looking or try other characters which is also fun.

I also see a ton of complaints about rifts and how they need changing. Rifts aren't intended for an end game. This game is HUGE with tons of areas to explore and two modes of play. I'm not having a lot of luck with gear in Rifts so I started playing other ways! I play new characters and during the playthru at 70 I check side areas for chests and such. This is where I actually found my SoJ and a piece of Crusader Armor set recently.

If you're mad at this game because your drive is to "get loot" then allowing trade will be the worst thing possible for your enjoyment of the game. You need a new mindset.

Thanks Blizzard for fixing the fustercluck of a game Diablo 3 vanilla was. This game is actually something that's fun!
