Patch 2.1.2 Will Go Live in December

PTR testing for the Season 2 patch is expected to take a few weeks

Diablo III Public Test Realm
A lot of Diablo III players are jumping on the Public Test Realm to test out Patch 2.1.2. We are learning exactly what will and won't be in the patch, along with the expected timetable for its release. This is going to be fast PTR testing cycle, only a few weeks long. That means that patch 2.1.2 will be going live in December. The latest Blizzard Blues also list the current issues on the first build of patch 2.1.2 on the PTR.

Focused Feedback for Patch 2.1.2 PTR
The Diablo III team would like to hear feedback on specific aspects of the 2.1.2 patch, while it is on the PTR. This PTR cycle "will be relatively short and last only a few weeks", so patch 2.1.2 is expected to go live around mid-December. Season 2 will likely follow shortly after patch 2.1.2 is live, although Blizzard will give a 30 day notice before the end of Season 1.
Hail, brave heroes of Sanctuary, and welcome to the Patch 2.1.2 PTR!

This upcoming patch features a variety of quality of life and balance changes for Diablo III: Reaper of Souls. For more information on the full scope of Patch 2.1.2, please check out our latest PTR patch notes here.

As this PTR will be relatively short and last only a few weeks, we want to make the most of your testing efforts. While we welcome any and all feedback, we are currently looking for focused discussions on the following topics:

    • Has been redesigned:
      • (2) Set Bonus

    Previous Topics

While we are not currently actively looking for feedback on these topics, this thread contains feedback about the previous changes.

  • Monster distribution in Greater and Nephalem Rifts
    • Nephalem Rifts
      • Monster density has been increased in several Greater and Nephalem Rifts

  • Rift Guardian Tuning
    • The following Rift Guardians have received several changes. As a result, they should be less frustrating, but still dangerous.
      • Bloodmaw
        • Bloodmaw presented an unchallenging and unfair fight due to a combination of one-shot damaging abilities, stuns, and AoE damage. His Leap attack has been modified to address these concerns, but will trigger more often to make the fight feel more dynamic.
      • Erethon
        • Erethon has received minor changes to his dash attack. The AoE element has been replaced with a ranged attack to give more challenge to ranged characters.
      • Rime
        • Rime was an unfair opponent for melee players. The fight has been restructured so that this AoE can no longer overlap and the duration of each has been reduced. In addition, his ranged attack should be more threatening to ranged characters.

  • New Seasonal Conquests
    • Season 2 Conquests have been added
      • Divinity/Lionhearted
        • Reach Greater Rift Level 35 in Seasonal/Hardcore Seasonal.
      • Avarice/Avaritia
        • Complete a 50,000,000 gold streak while outside of The Vault and The Inner Sanctum in Seasonal/Hardcore Seasonal
      • Speed Demon/Need For Speed
        • Complete a Nephalem Rift at max level on Torment VI within 2 minutes in Seasonal/Hardcore Seasonal.
      • Language/Deadly Language
        • Complete the following Lore Book achievements in Seasonal/Hardcore Seasonal

New Sets Won't Be In 2.1.2
As noted above, some of the current class sets are receiving substantial changes to their set bonuses in patch 2.1.2. The entirely new class sets that were previewed at BlizzCon 2014 will not be part of this patch, or Season 2 - they will come in a later patch. When they do arrive, those new Sets won't be Seasonal gear, but will drop for all heroes.

Does it mean the new wizard slow time set is also season only?

The new Set items shown during our BlizzCon panel are currently designed to be available to all heroes, regardless of whether they are Seasonal. That said, I do want to clarify that these items will not be coming in patch 2.1.2; they’re scheduled to arrive in a later patch (no date to share just yet).

So to clarify, older legendaries that are getting changes (Wormwood, Gungdo Gear) aren't getting retroactively changed, like The Furnace did?

Correct. For any Legendary items in patch 2.1.2 that are getting a new Legendary power, the old version will not retroactively have the new powers added.

Season 2 Testing Coming to the PTR
There will be an "end of Season" test on the patch 2.1.2 PTR. Since the very first Season is running right now, it is a new process that needs to be thoroughly checked before the patch goes live.
    Posted by: Lightdemon

Specifically, I want to know if PTR 2.1.2 will be done as if Season 1 has ended, where all my seasonal progress has rolled over.

Not initially, but we do plan to roll the end of the Season during the course of the PTR. While I don't have a specific date just yet on when this will occur, this will be a relatively short testing phase and it shouldn't take too long.

    Patch 2.1.2 PTR Known Issues
The build of patch 2.1.2 on the PTR right now has a lot of known issues. This is common during the PTR test cycle. Following builds will fix the bugs and add in new Legendary affects, to get the patch ready for release.
Hello everyone, and welcome to the Patch 2.3.0 Public Test Realm! Below you will find the Known Issues list for our current 2.3.0 build - 33174. Please do not report bugs that you see on this list, as we already know about them, and please help out other players reporting bugs by referring them to this list.

As a reminder, this list will not list every bug that is active on the 2.3.0 PTR. What it is listed here are a select few issues -- chosen due to visibility and impact -- that are active and confirmed as bugs by Quality Assurance with verifiable steps and (in most cases) an expected fix. Just because a bug is not on this list does not mean we don't know about it! In addition, potential exploits and the like will never be listed here.

Please note that documented bugs may not always be fixed in the order in which they were reported. In some cases, we may not have a timeline for a when a bug will be fixed and some bugs may not be able to be fixed at all. If we are able to verify that a documented bug cannot be fixed, it will be removed from this list.

Thank you for your continued reports, and enjoy Diablo III!!!

    • The Level one “Cubist” Achievement progress bar displays incorrectly in the Achievements UI

    • Wizard - Archon: Entering Archon form will not break fear effects caused by Nightmarish monsters

    • The Deadly Rebirth legendary dagger has been temporarily removed as a possible drop

    • Crafted legendary offhand items are not rolling with the appropriate values of increased damage

    • Gem recipe inventory items obtained prior to patch 2.3.0 will become unusable after patch 2.3.0 is released
Note:These items are going to be converted to grey vendor items in a future patch
