Mouse Input Lag(1)Category: Technical SupportJuly-18-2015 3:23 PM PDT (9 years ago) Go to Blizzard forum post
Hello, I came here hoping for some help. Before I bought D3, I played through the trial version to see if my PC could run it well enough and to see if I'd actually enjoy the game. I played it and there was no issues or anything and I found that I really liked the game, so when it prompted me to buy the game after I beat the skeleton king or whatever I went ahead and bought the standard D3 version. No expansions or anything. Well, upon starting up the game after buying it, I noticed that the mouse cursor was taking about a half of a second to catch up to where I told it to go. I believe this is called input lag. It can't be an issue associated with lacking PC specs because it ran the trial fine. Can anyone help me solve this issue please?

The steps below are usually helpful in resolving mouse issues if you're using Windows 7/8:

1. Right-click on your desktop and select Screen resolution.
2. Click Make text and other items larger or smaller.
3. Change the size to either Smaller or Medium. (Our games are not compatible with the Larger setting.)
4. Select Apply.
5. Restart your computer.

If you're not using Windows 7/8, or you still have trouble, have you tried using another mouse and checking for up-to-date mouse drivers? Are you playing using dual screens or a television?

DunkinRahl ,

If the above suggestion doesn't resolve it for you, post your Dxdiag and D3Prefs.txt file please.

You can find this information in the Direct X Diagnostic Tool:

Click on Start
Click on Run
Type in: dxdiag (In Vista, type dxdiag in the search field)
Hit Enter or OK

Click on the Save All Information button at the bottom, and create a dxdiag text file, and copy and paste it ALL here.

Your D3Prefs.txt file is located in the My Documents\Diablo III folder.
