| So I switched from using 1 handed weapons and a shield to a two handed weapon on my barbarian and now all the weapons the game seems to drop for me are two handed. I haven't seen a good one handed weapon drop since I started using large weapons, and i haven't seen a single shield drop at all. Is this how the games loot system is supposed to work? If so that's pretty boring if you ask me, a big part of the fun is for the unexpected to drop. | ||

I haven't seen a good one handed weapon drop since I started using large weapons, and i haven't seen a single shield drop at all. Is this how the games loot system is supposed to work? The specific weapons (or off hand items) you're currently using has no bearing on the variety of items that drop in the game, so swapping to a 2-handed weapon will not result in a decreased chance of 1-handed weapons or shields dropping. What you're experiencing is purely coincidental, but certainly happens. Personally, I've gone through several streaks where a particular item (or item type) seems to drop much more frequently than anything else. | ||

But for interests sake, does the item quality of the gear you have on have any affect on the slot a legendary will drop for? It doesn't, but it sounds like a well timed lucky streak. Well, presuming you find something to use. Like in my case, all I need is a ring and all thats dropping appears to be rings. I wish I had that turn of fortune! I've been hunting for an amulet since the beginning, and still have a very well rolled rare in that slot. | ||
