Korix #1200 | Computer Crash freezing, not desolate sands issue.(1) | Category: Technical SupportMay-15-2016 7:32 PM PDT (9 years ago) |
Sorry for the long text, but this is my first time actually asking a forum for help. The issue: The game plays fine anywhere from 5 mins to 2 hours at which point my audio makes a sharp sound and then my whole computer freezes. Everything is frozen and have to manually reset the desktop. My tech specs are: OS: Win10 64 bit Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 (Driver version 10.18.13.6510) Processor: AMD FX 9370 8 core (Driver 10.0.10586.0) RAM: 8gb Not sure what else might be helpful to know. More details: Nothing in particular seems to cause it. It's happened everywhere, even when doing nothing in town. It started happening around the back end of season 5 and had been playing the game since the beginning of season 4 without problems. I stopped playing for awhile and tried season 6, still happens. I looked at all the desolate sands issue posts and I'm sure it's not that, though I never tried the dll files thing. No other games cause it(i.e. LoL, TF2, Skyrim, ect.) and playing D3 while watching YouTube doesn't overheat my computer and cpu sits around 30% and memory around 40%. Computer is reaching 2 years without upgrades to parts except an upgrade to a samsung 500GB SSD, but nothing except OS and D3 updates have changed. Anyone have suggestions? |

Korix, Please post your DXDIAG file (Not the MSInfo) so we can get more information about your computer. Here's a support article that will show you how to get the DXDIAG: Obtaining System Files Once you have the DXDIAG file, open it and copy/paste the entire file into your next reply. ______________________________________________________ I'm available Monday through Friday from 11AM to 8PM Pacific Time Customer Support Contact Information Got some feedback? |

Korix, Thanks for posting the DXDIAG. Please post your D3Debug.txt file and your D3Prefs.txt file. 1. The D3Debug.txt file should be located in the main Diablo III folder. 2. The D3Prefs.txt file should be located in the Documents folder. ______________________________________________________ I'm available Monday through Friday from 11AM to 8PM Pacific Time Customer Support Contact Information Got some feedback? |

Korix, The D3Debug that you posted isn't complete. My guess is that you either didn't post the entire thing, and if that was the entire D3Debug, then that one may have happened after the game completely failed to launch. Can you double check if that is the whole report, or verify if that was posted after the game failed to load? ______________________________________________________ I'm available Monday through Friday from 11AM to 8PM Pacific Time Customer Support Contact Information Got some feedback? |

Korix, Let's also get some more information about your system's hardware. 1. Download and install the newest version of CPU-Z. 2. Once installed, run CPU-Z 3. Click on the "About" tab 4. Click on "Save report (.TXT)" and save the report to the desktop. 5. Open the report, and cut/paste it into this thread. ______________________________________________________ I'm available Monday through Friday from 11AM to 8PM Pacific Time Customer Support Contact Information Got some feedback? |

Korix, Memory Frequency 577.8 MHz (3:8) CAS# latency (CL) 11.0 RAS# to CAS# delay (tRCD) 11 RAS# Precharge (tRP) 11 Cycle Time (tRAS) 28 Bank Cycle Time (tRC) 27 Uncore Frequency 2383.8 MHz The numbers above represent the timing that your system's RAM is currently running at. JEDEC timings table CL-tRCD-tRP-tRAS-tRC @ frequency JEDEC #1 6.0-6-6-17-23 @ 457 MHz JEDEC #2 7.0-7-7-20-27 @ 533 MHz JEDEC #3 8.0-8-8-22-30 @ 609 MHz JEDEC #4 9.0-9-9-24-33 @ 666 MHz The JEDEC profiles listed above are the timings that your RAM should be running at when it's not being overclocked. Comparing the numbers in each JEDEC profile with the numbers your system currently using, it looks like your RAM is being overclocked. That can cause system instability, which can lead to crashes. I recommend changing your RAM timing to match one of the timings in any of the JEDEC profiles. Those changes can be made in the BIOS. If you are not sure how to make those changes, you will want to contact the motherboard manufacture or a PC technician for assistance. ______________________________________________________ I'm available Monday through Friday from 11AM to 8PM Pacific Time Customer Support Contact Information Got some feedback? |
