The game was fine until 20 minutes ago when I started getting crazy amounts of lag. I have 1000-3000 ping now, the game is unplayable, chat works fine. Everything else on my net works fine, it seems the issue is confined to D3 only.

Hey all. It looks like AT&T users are impacted, but we need a bit more information so we can work on a resolution. Could you grab us all 3 of the following reports and post them here?

Traceroute
Pathping
Looking Glass

We'll take that information and route it along for our Network Administrators to investigate. Thanks!

Thanks for the reports, everyone! Please make sure to include all of the requested traces so we can get a complete look at the network path to and from our servers. It'll help us narrow down where the issue may be occurring!

After reaching out to AT&T Retail, it looks like they were able to identify a fiber cut which resulted in the latency issues affecting players on Friday evening. They have since resolved the issue, and this is no longer impacting network connectivity.
