Avitar #1726 | Installation of Diablo 2 and LOD without a cd drive(1) | Category: Technical SupportApril-13-2016 10:58 PM PDT (9 years ago) |
I have the original discs for Diablo 2 and LOD, i reclaimed the games from B.Net and downloaded the installers for both. My current pc setup does not have a cd drive and i would like to install the game and am unsure how to do this. Any ideas would be greatly apprecieated. I guess if it is not possible that i will have to buy a usb based cd drive. Thanks in advance |

Avitar, If you've had the game installed on the computer you're trying to use now, you may need to delete a registry entry or it's going to think you want to play, not install. Using the Windows regedit app, locate and delete the following registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Blizzard Entertainment\Diablo II Then run the new installer again. Do so as an administrator by right clicking the icon used to start it and selecting that option. To see your 26 digit key, it should be listed on your Battle.net Account Management page. Go to the Summary section and then select the game. You must have Diablo II installed before you can install the Lord of Destruction. If you require any additional assistance with Diablo II, please post in the Classic Games Technical Support forum located here. ______________________________________________________________ I'm available in the forums Monday - Friday 6:00 am - 3:00 pm Pacific Time, Feedback? - https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Omrakos |

Avitar, Did you select the option to run the installer as an administrator as I mentioned? ______________________________________________________________ I'm available in the forums Monday - Friday 6:00 am - 3:00 pm Pacific Time, Feedback? - https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Omrakos |
