PhageShift #1134 | Unplayable levels of lag very frequently! Help?(1) | Category: Technical SupportJuly-25-2015 9:51 PM PDT (9 years ago) |
Recently having purchased Diablo 3 I was met with a strange issue. It seems to lag for minutes on end with often no fix other than simply restarting the game. These giant lag spikes happen every few minutes or so, making it nearly unplayable. When it is playable, it runs fine and it's tons of fun, but I don't know if I will be able to play any long dungeons longer than 3 floors if I keep getting lag spiked to death in the middle of huge crowds or simply disconnected and forced to relog. My latency has consistently been above 100 ms (at which point the game seems to respond) but constantly shoots up to over 1000+ randomly, resulting in the action suddenly stopping and restarting in a flash sometimes minutes later and suddenly I'm dead. I've tried this at multiple times of the day and even tried flushing my DNS cache and power-cycling my modem to see if it was a problem on my end, but alas nothing seems to be fixing it. For reference, I am a Comcast customer in NJ. Does anyone have any idea what's going on? |

It sounds like you've already tried some of the steps from this article. Are there any others you've tried? If so, did you have any luck with them? If the steps there don't fix it, it would help if we could get some more information about your connection. In addition to the below, can you tell us if you're playing on a shared internet connection? Got some feedback? Rate me! |
