So i have a lenovo y50 gaming laptop that is running off of 8 gb of ram and a gtx 860m graphics card, i can play every game on high or ultra settings without any problems but for some reason when i play diablo or WoW I will have my fps randomly drop from 60 fps to around 20 for roughly 2-3 sec for no reason, and it happens probably every 30 sec to a minute. and its only on these 2 games, i play call of duty on high settings at 60 fps with no drops in fps at all. just wondering if anyone might have an answer as to what it might be. (and yes i do use a cool mat/fan) |

AndersR25, Please post the contents of your D3Debug.txt file. That file should be located in your Diablo III folder and can be opened with Notepad or Wordpad. ______________________________________________________ I'm available Monday through Friday from 11AM to 8PM Pacific Time Support Contact Information Got some feedback? |

AndersR25, Judging from the D3Debug.txt file, it looks like the game is running on the Intel video chipset instead of your Nvidia chipset. Let's try forcing your system to run on the Nvidia card. Try this: 1. Right click on the desktop and select the Nvidia Control Panel. 2. Click on "Manage 3D Settings" located in the left window pane. 3. Click on the "Program Settings" tab. 4. Click on "Add", browse to the Diablo III game folder, and select the Diablo III.exe 5. Select "High Performance Nvidia Processor" from the "Select the preferred graphics processor" drop down menu. 6. Click on "Apply" and close the Nvidia Control Panel. ______________________________________________________ I'm available Monday through Friday from 11AM to 8PM Pacific Time Support Contact Information Got some feedback? |

AndersR25, Let's try running a selective startup to see if that helps. Please be aware that running while in this mode can potentially disable any security programs you may have running. Here's a support article with steps on how run the selective startup: Closing Background Applications ______________________________________________________ I'm available Monday through Friday from 11AM to 8PM Pacific Time Support Contact Information Got some feedback? |

AndersR25, Some laptops don't work well with drivers that weren't modified by the laptop manufacture. Let's install the newest Intel and Nvidia drivers that are posted on the Lenovo website. Here's a link for the Intel driver download, and here's a link for the Nvidia driver download. Once both of those are installed, test out the game and let me know what happens. ______________________________________________________ I'm available Monday through Friday from 11AM to 8PM Pacific Time Support Contact Information Got some feedback? |
