Terrafire, Please post your DXDIAG file so we can get more information about your computer. Here's a support article that will show you how to get the DXDIAG: Obtaining System Files Once you have the DXDIAG file, open it and copy/paste the entire file into your next reply. ______________________________________________________ I'm available Monday through Friday from 11AM to 8PM Pacific Time Support Contact Information Got some feedback? |

Terrafire, Let's try uninstalling and reinstalling a previous video driver version to see if that helps. To uninstall the current driver, you are going to want to use a program called Display Driver Uninstaller. This program will ensure that all previous driver files are completely removed. Here's a link where the Display Driver Uninstaller program can be downloaded. Once you have that downloaded and installed, try the following steps: 1. Run Display Driver Uninstaller. 2. You will be asked if you want to reboot into safe mode, click on "No". 3. Select "Nvidia" from the "Select Graphic Driver" drop down menu. 4. Click on the "Clean and restart" button. After the system restarts, the video driver should be completely uninstalled so the graphics should look larger than usual. That's normal and it'll fix itself when the video driver is reinstalled. Now that the driver is gone, we can go ahead with reinstalling it. Here's a link for the driver download: Nvidia Driver When you are going to install the driver I would like for you to select "Custom Install" > Uncheck everything except for the graphics driver > Check the "Perform a clean install" box > Continue with the install. ______________________________________________________ I'm available Monday through Friday from 11AM to 8PM Pacific Time Support Contact Information Got some feedback? |

Terrafire, Since you had an AMD card prior to the Nvidia card, I would also run the Display Driver Uninstaller tool to make sure that all of the AMD files are completely gone before reinstalling the Nvidia driver that I suggested. ______________________________________________________ I'm available Monday through Friday from 11AM to 8PM Pacific Time Support Contact Information Got some feedback? |

Terrafire, Let's get some more information about your system's hardware. 1. Download and install the newest version of CPU-Z. 2. Once installed, run CPU-Z 3. Click on the "About" tab 4. Click on "Save report (.TXT)" and save the report to the desktop. 5. Open the report, and cut/paste it into this thread. ______________________________________________________ I'm available Monday through Friday from 11AM to 8PM Pacific Time Support Contact Information Got some feedback? |

Terrafire, Memory Frequency 936.5 MHz (3:14) CAS# latency (CL) 11.0 RAS# to CAS# delay (tRCD) 11 RAS# Precharge (tRP) 11 Cycle Time (tRAS) 28 Bank Cycle Time (tRC) 45 The RAM timings above are the timings that your system is currently set to. JEDEC timings table CL-tRCD-tRP-tRAS-tRC @ frequency JEDEC #1 6.0-6-6-16-22 @ 457 MHz JEDEC #2 7.0-7-7-19-26 @ 533 MHz JEDEC #3 8.0-8-8-22-30 @ 609 MHz JEDEC #4 9.0-9-9-24-33 @ 685 MHz JEDEC #5 10.0-10-10-27-37 @ 761 MHz JEDEC #6 11.0-11-11-28-39 @ 800 MHz The timings above are the suggested RAM timings when the RAM is not being overclocked. XMP timings table CL-tRCD-tRP-tRAS-tRC-CR @ frequency (voltage) XMP #1 9.0-10-9-28-37-1T @ 933 MHz (1.500 Volts) The RAM timing above is the XMP timing when the RAM is being overclocked. As you can see from what is showing up in the CPU-Z report, your Memory frequency is currently running at 936.5 MHz, which is close to what it would be running at if you were running on the XMP profile timing. Your RAM timing is set to 11-11-11-28 which is what it would be running at if your RAM was set to the JEDEC #6 timing profile. However, if it was running on the JEDEC #6 profile, your memory frequency should be running at about 800 MHz. I also noticed that you are only using 3 sticks of RAM on a dual channel board. This shouldn't cause any issues, but the recommended set up for that type of board is normally 1 stick, 2 sticks, or 4 sticks. I'm thinking that the RAM timings are causing some instability issues, which then leads to the system freezing. I recommend removing two of the sticks so that only one stick of RAM is installed, and then lowering the RAM timings to one of the suggested JEDEC timings and memory frequencies listed above, preferably the timing and frequency listed for JEDEC #1. The system will be slower, but those settings will just be temporary to see if they help stop the freezing. Terrafire, how do i go about adjusting the timing of the ram down in the bios? That's all done in the BIOS. I don't have specific steps for that process. If you do not know how to do it, I recommend contacting the motherboard manufacture or the builder of the system for assistance. Otherwise, if you're pretty tech savvy, you might be able to find some info online that could help you out with changing the timings. ______________________________________________________ I'm available Monday through Friday from 11AM to 8PM Pacific Time Support Contact Information Got some feedback? |

Terrafire, i think i figured out how to adjust the ram speed and such i'll jump in game for a while see if it craps out again Sounds good. If you want, post a new CPU-Z report and I can see what your timing is currently set to. ______________________________________________________ I'm available Monday through Friday from 11AM to 8PM Pacific Time Support Contact Information Got some feedback? |

Terrafire, Memory Frequency 936.3 MHz (3:14) CAS# latency (CL) 9.0 RAS# to CAS# delay (tRCD) 10 RAS# Precharge (tRP) 9 Cycle Time (tRAS) 28 Above are your current timings. XMP timings table CL-tRCD-tRP-tRAS-tRC-CR @ frequency (voltage) XMP #1 9.0-10-9-28-37-2T @ 933 MHz (1.500 Volts) It looks like you are still using the XMP profile. You still need to switch that out so that you are running on one of the JEDEC profiles, and then test the game out again. ______________________________________________________ I'm available Monday through Friday from 11AM to 8PM Pacific Time Support Contact Information Got some feedback? |
