WarWeaver,
Yes, most of the 14.x AMD driver versions are experiencing some crashing issues in Diablo 3. I saw that Araxom suggested that you install the newest drivers from the HP website, which is ideally what you'd want to do. I know you had some concern about the drivers being older, but that's pretty much what we want in order to avoid the crashes. Also, those are the drivers distributed by your laptop manufacture, so they should be the best option.
I noticed that you had some issues installing those HP drivers, so before you try again, I'd like for you to download a program called Display Driver Uninstaller. That program will remove any traces of your current drivers, so that we can be sure that your new install will be a fresh one.
Here's what I'll need for you to try:
1. Download and install Display Driver Uninstaller.
2. Run Display Driver Uninstaller.
3. Select "AMD" from the "Select graphic driver" drop down menu.
4. Click on the "Clean and restart" button.
5. Upon restart, repeat the same steps for the Intel driver.
6. Install the newest drivers available on the HP Support Site for your system.

first off, my specs are I7-3632QM CPU 2.2 GHz, 64 bit OS. 8 GB Ram. Dual graphics, AMD Radeon HD 7600M Series and Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 Basically, the latest driver version for the AMD card, which is 14.5, caused a ton of troubles and crashing the game repeatedly! Support helped me out by stating that the driver i currently have is the problem, and directed to this site: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers, which indicated which driver i should currently have. After downloading the driver, which is 8.9, and following the installation process, and clicking "finish" after the catalyst program finished installing. But the problem is, the driver never installs. I keep checking through device manager if 8.9 is installed, but it keeps telling me that 14.5 (the unwanted one) is still there! i restarted the laptop to no use, at this point i downloaded the driver from elsewhere to make sure, 4 different sites gave me the same exactly file. And then, i completely uninstalled the driver, and rerun the installation process of 8.9 driver, reinstalled everything (i replaced everything they asked to) and gone through it all. But the thing is, I still didn't get it! Device manager doesn't show the AMD gpu at all! And after a while or after a restart, it automatically installs the 14.5 driver! What am i doing wrong?! the downloaded files (both were 8.9 AMD driver) were from (http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers), and (http://www.getdriver.com/notebook/2228/hp-pavilion-g7-2240us-drivers-windows-8-x64-64-bit.html#Intel%20High-Definition%20%28HD%29%20Graphics%20Driver%20Version%3A9.17.10.2857%2C%20136.51M)

Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available" with the only option to "close program" to choose. The thing is, only Diablo seems to be affected by this and crashes the moment i click on "Play" from the battlenet, while HoTS, Hearthstone, league are all unaffected....
