error 3007 and hardcore players(1)Category: Technical SupportMarch-25-2016 10:24 AM PDT (9 years ago) Go to Blizzard forum post
hey guys

whats up with error 3007 lately? been kinda inactive but i have been following the forums and it appears that this has happened to a couple of players now.

i am only posting this because it's the fourth time for me now that i lose a hardcore character due to a connection loss that is definitely not on my end - my internet connection always worked fine - yes i checked every time - and the only thing i could not connect to were always blizzard's sites and games themselves. the downtime always seemed to be like 15-30 seconds only, enough to kill my toon apparently.

while this is frustrating, i realize that it's just the risk i take when playing hardcore. but, it seems that the only way you can actually die at this point is a connection loss, since every class has cheat-death abilities and, when the connection is good, you can almost always escape a deadly situation whatsoever. so it appears that if a hardcore character dies, it's almost never the player's fault, in most cases it's a technical issue (that is telling from my own experience) - which makes hardcore feel kinda like playing russian roulette. i'm never afraid to die because i might encounter a too powerful enemy, i only fear losing my connection...

i know this has been suggested a lot, and never been heard - but how about allowing players to play offline? it's not like you actually NEED other people to play with. plus, PVP is practically non-existant, so there is no content at all that you could not experience in single-player.

or, rephrase the hardcore character creation warning to something like "you can't really screw up yourself, but you still might just lose your toon for no reason whatsoever."

alright, thx for reading, and happy easter everyone!

Hello Makzi,

We have no knowledge of general issues on the servers that cause error 3007. While it's true that players suffer this error every now and then, it doesn't seem to be a general issue. Most of the times it can be fixed; let's go through some troubleshooting steps with you to see if we can fix it or find the root of the issue.

Please, make sure to follow all the steps in both these articles:
battle.net/support/article/611
battle.net/support/article/7500077

If the issue persists, please provide us with the following information so we can look into it. Even if the issue ends up being on our side, we need the information to investigate and escalate as needed:

- Details of issue:
- Date/time it started:
- City/Country:
- Internet Provider:
- Traceroute (right after a disconnection or whenever you're experiencing the issue)
- Pathping (right after a disconnection or whenever you're experiencing the issue)
- Looking Glass report (right after a disconnection or whenever you're experiencing the issue)
