| So, I've seen a lot of posts about latency, most of which seem to be a lot more random/generic than what I'm getting. It seems that D3 will randomly decide what I'm allowed to do on my Season 5 Crusader - Rifts, Grifts, or Bounties. If I try to do something it doesn't want me to do (most frequently Bounties, but I've had instances of both Grift and Rift instability), then I'll get part-way through (4th or 5th Bounty of an area, anywhere from G/Rift just opened to just prior to the boss appearing), hit a massive lag spike, and then get a disconnected from server message shortly after (or not so shortly if it happens in a loadscreen between areas). For example, today I've done a couple of normal Rifts (Torment V) for Grift keys - ran smooth as silk, not a hitch throughout all the visual fun and games of my thorns/bombardment/haunt build. Figured I'd give Bounties a shot to build my unique crafting items back up. Completed 2 of the bounties in Caldeum without any trouble, started lagging as I completed my third, waited for the latency bar to go back to green, and d/c'd in the loadscreen as I warped elsewhere. Loaded straight back into the game, did another normal Rift at the same difficulty with 0 lag. W. T. F.? The other day, for a rare change, it was the other way around. To my utter shock I managed to complete all the bounties in all the areas without any problems. Opened an empowered Grift a short while after, lagged, thought 'uh oh', and got the d/c message as I warped into the grift - key and cash lost. I'm at a loss as to what's causing the problem, to the point where I'm starting to wonder if my 'brain-off' style of play is being flagged as 'bot-like' somewhere and leading me to fall foul of some sort of deliberate anti-bot disruption system... | ||
