I've been trying to get the game fully downloaded for a couple of days now. No matter what I do, after trying everything suggested on the troubleshooting guide and flipping through hundreds of forum posts on similar topics, it always takes about 45 minutes to an hour to initialize, after which im stuck at 0 bytes/seconds for another 45 minutes or so, and then reach the staggering download speed of 20-50 kb/s.

I've tried unchecking and checking all the boxes under LAN settings in internet options, disabled firewall and antivirus programs, running as admin, powercycling the router...nothing changes.

IWill,

Let's try running the repair tool to see if that helps.

Here's a support article that will help with that: Repairing Blizzard Games

Thanks for the quick response.

Unfortunately I might not have explained myself too well. I got the game mostly downloaded fairly quickly ( approx 1.5-2 mb/s) but as right before I hit playable status it dropped to 0 kb/s and took a good 20 minutes to get the last bit. Right at this point did the aforementioned problems begin. The connection has lots of difficulty splitting between the download and the game so I feel like I need it to finish to really be able to play.

Today I downloaded heroes of the storm and its having similar problems.

I downloaded up to playable very quickly, and right as it hits the mark it stopped for a few minutes, and now I can only get 100 kb/s. Like D3 the game is completely unplayable, I am sputtering 100% of the time.

I've adjusted the graphics on both games to no effect, and in HotS I constantly get the little connection error, so I don't think its a matter of computer specs not reaching the minimum.

I've seen many older forum posts having a similar problem (with the exception of it being related to playable status, that seems unique) many of which fixed by going to LAN settings and unchecking the "Automatically detect settings" box. This doesnt do anything for me.

The maximum download speeds in the settings are set to 0/Unlimited.

I'm using hotspot internet, and it definitely doesnt perform as well when im splitting it with another person playing a game or watching tv, but the latency issues im having are on another level entirely. Say my friends streaming on netflix and I'm playing league of legends, I'm going to have an extra 50-100 ping with maybe 2-3 spikes every 10 minutes. But when I'm trying to play HotS I'm getting large spikes every 2-3 seconds for the entire game. Not sure if its relevant I just wanted to make note.

Sorry for not being more clear the first time, thanks for your help.
