Hi there, sorry to hear you're experiencing latency in Diablo III.

As far as we're aware, there are no issues with the servers that would cause problems or disruption but in order to investigate further, we need additional information.

First, try the troubleshooting steps outlined here. If the issue persists after trying all of those steps, please post the following information:

  • Description of the issue (patterns to the behaviour, error messages etc.)
  • Country, city and ISP
  • A Trace Route (taken while experiencing the issue)
  • A Pathping (taken while experiencing the issue)
  • A Looking Glass MTR report (taken while experiencing the issue)

If you can provide that, we can take a closer look and hopefully assist further.

That's awesome fnrir, thanks. So, it seems you're not alone as you can see here in the World of Warcraft Technical Support forum.

As Raxigose mentioned in that thread, we are passing this data to our network engineers and experts so that they can take a look and find out what's going on. I'll add your data to the case file too, if we receive any updates we'll post them here for you. In the meantime, I would definitely encourage you to contact your ISP with this information. While it's too early to say exactly where the issue lies, they can start investigating from their end too.

Just to be clear Helleronly so there's no misinformation; this almost certainly has nothing to do with the patch at all. As you can see above, World of Warcraft players with the same ISP are also having the same issues.

There are no server issues that we're aware of Fundo, that's why we're trying to help locate the issue with those affected.

rvn; thanks for posting that information. However, I don't think the Trace Route or Pathping are going to the right address there, you should actually be tracing to 213.155.155.233. I did notice that your initial hop to your router is unusually high:

I believe your issue may be separate to the one being discussed here. When you experience this issue, does your ingame latency rise at all (little green bar to the left of your alternate resource globe on the UI)?

Hey guys.

So, we’ve been informed of an external infrastructure issue that may be affecting gamers in certain European countries. While this issue is being addressed, higher than usual latency may be experienced for some online services, including our games.

As soon as we receive status updates from the external parties involved or have an ETA for normal service to resume, we’ll let you know.

It's highly unlikely that this is true, and impossible to verify until you've tried every single online game and streaming service currently in existence Spacecowboy. Of the ones you own/have tried it may be the only one, sure, but if there's a serious infrastructure issue, any services connecting through the impacted destinations will be affected.
