Cannot update on 10.10.1 mac...(1)Category: Mac Technical SupportApril-29-2015 12:51 PM PDT (9 years ago) Go to Blizzard forum post
I am on 2.2.0 something...never experienced this problem before. I run no anti-virus software.

Basically it asks permission/password to get into my user preferences and then it fails to update.

Saying that it cannot access software that it needs to update.

What gives?

Having the same issue. Error BLZBNTAGT00000871. Tried restarting, deleting agent.db... Nothing working. Weird thing is I played this morning, quit DIII, kept Battle.net launcher open, then went to play again later and it's not working.

I played at lunch today. I am thinking it is something that was JUST implemented within an hour or so.

Whoever made the update...you made a boo boo. Please fix your boo boo.

Had the problem with my machine at work. Having the same problem on my home machine as well. Seems weird nobody else is whining about it.

Can also report this is happening to me. I was able to log in but had connectivity issues - very bad lag. After that I keep experiencing what the first poster said.

All I can say is, the same thing is happening to me: Mac OS X 10.10.3, disabled login items, used an admin account, there is no antivirus software running, and I got the error : BLZBNTAGT00000871.

Oh, good. I'm glad it's not just me. At first I thought it was the 10.10.4 beta, but apparently not.

I'm on 10.10.3 and it's broken. Started happening after 4PM EDT, was working fine all day today prior to that.

Have tried deleting the Battle.net tools folder, repairing disk permissions, rebooting, etc.

Windows version patched without a hitch.

Hey all! Can you send us some additional logs? Our Battle.net QA team is currently investigating:

    1. Download LogGoblin_Mac.zip
    2. In Finder, navigate to your user account Downloads (~/Downloads) directory and double-click the archive to extract LogGoblin.
    3. Run LogGoblin and give it a few minutes to gather your Battle.net logs.
    4. A zip file named BlizzardLogs-[YYYY-MM-DD].[HHMMSS].zip, which contains all of your log files, was created at the location shown in the Terminal window.
    5. Exit Terminal.

Once the .zip file is created, please email it to toolsupport@blizzard.com with the title [B.net][Agent 1.19.0 Update][(Your Username)][BLZBNTAGT00000871][17085820746].

Thanks for helping out everyone!

Doing the permissions reset (see the sticky) on diablo III folder and /Users/Shared/Battle.net folders worked for me.

It didn't help for me, unfortunately.

edit: I stand corrected. Repairing permissions with Disk Utility did not work, but the trick of applying the read&write permissions to all enclosed items in the Diablo folders, DID in fact work. Thank you for the reminder. :)

Our Battle.net Team has a fix ready and it's currently being tested. Once it passes verification, we'll be publishing it to resolve the issues.

Once the Battle.net App is published, the easiest way to pick it up will be to restart your computer and re-run Battle.net. I'll be sure to let you know as soon as it's available!

Edit: This fast patch is now live, and Battle.net should already pick it up. This fix will work on affected systems. To manually pick up the patch:

1. Close the Battle.net App.
2. Open Activity Monitor from your Utilities folder.
3. Look for Agent and Quit Process if present.
4. Launch Battle.net
