| Diablo 3 has always run like a dream for me. Until the latest 2.2 patch, that is. For whatever reason I am seeing pretty terrible performance issues. Every 9-10 seconds the game will stutter for 1-2 seconds. It has become pretty much unplayable. Things I have done to attempt to fix it: -Uninstall and reinstall -Update drivers -Disk Clean up -Reduce graphics to low/off -Ran internet speed test -Killed all other non-essential applications. None of these things have fixed the issue. Anyone else seeing this, or have a remedy? This patch may have just solved my addiction to Diablo 3... | ||

No new information has been shared with us, but rest assured that we're definitely aware of the performance issues that some of you are experiencing, and we're working hard to figure out the root cause. | Caliban, Driver Date/Size: 6/30/2011 03:46:02, 811008 bytes I'm not sure if this will help, but I noticed that you are currently running on video drivers from 2011, so even if this issue wasn't currently going on, you'd probably still experience performance issues. Let's get that driver up to date to see if that helps any. Here's a link for the driver download: AMD Driver When installing the driver you should be given an option to do an "Express" install or a "Custom" install, I recommend selecting the "Custom" install. | Hey all, I can't say if this will help or not, but I saw it help some people in a different thread. I thought it might worth trying, at least as a temporary workaround: Hey Sen and All relevant, No guarentees on this, but this literally solved ALL my video card issues (basically unsupported) For a temporary solution until the real-issue is solved, try turning down your Hardware Mode in the D3Prefs (in your main Documents Folder --> Diablo 3 --> D3Prefs.txt ) Lower Hardware modes are easier for the system to handle. | Airos, There is no entry for "Hardware Mode" in my D3Prefs.txt file. Do you mean "HardwareClass"? I don't want to go about changing preferences on a guess. | Hey folks, First, I think we've had enough system information posted and emailed to us, so for the time being, no more system info is required. In regards to the investigation, it's still ongoing. However, I believe that we may have found the cause of this issue. | MoonDog, The "fix" that we're testing in the PTR is one that is supposed to address the performance issue that started with the release of 2.2. | Our QA Team is requesting users experiencing the "several second delay while playing" symptom to please upload and link a video of it occurring. They're just having a really hard time reproducing it in-house and would like to see what exactly is happening on-screen to people. Just videos for the symptom I mentioned are needed. | Litespeed, Can you provide a timestamp for where in this video you see the pausing? I may have missed it but I didn't see anything out of place, but I didn't know where or when to look for it exactly. They test both on the retail servers in the datacenter as well on a local lan connection with test servers. They also test on an external WIFI connection if needed. | NightReveals, Could you create a new thread of your own and in it, describe the problem you're seeing along with a list of any steps you've tried so far to resolve it? I'll also want to see your dxdiag info along with your D3Prefs.txt file. You can find this information in the Direct X Diagnostic Tool: Click on Start Click on Run Type in: dxdiag (In Vista, type dxdiag in the search field) Hit Enter or OK Click on the Save All Information button at the bottom, and create a dxdiag text file, and copy and paste it ALL here.
