SaRx #2198 | Latency issue again blizzard please ......(1) | Category: Technical SupportDecember-9-2015 1:18 PM PST (9 years ago) |
so every time that i play Diablo i usually get 85-100msec which is normal for playing in my opinion and every once in a while(week or two) i have a really big continuing problem that you (blizzard support) cannot fix ... i get a high latency (2000-2500) latency in a game while standing in town doing nothing .. every two weeks the conversation with you guys (blizzard support) look like this me: i have latency problem this is my tracert and trace ping or what ever the thing that you ask me to put on every time ! blizzard support : nothing seems to cause the problem you should contact your ISP and to notify them about this problem me: OK.... (back in 3 hours or something like that after contacting my ISP) my ISP says that everything looks fine and nothing is really causing the issue here ... (and again putting up my tracert and ping check that you tell me to put every single time ) blizzard support: no answer ... me : freaking out ! and a lot of other people are saying that they have the same issue (different ISP's DIFFERENT Country ! ) blizzard support : still nothing not a single notification to say that you are looking into that me : freaking out and waiting 2-3 days or maybe a week till this is fixed probably by blizzard because every other single online game that i own working fine with the minimum ping (latency) that i can get and the game-play is smooth and fun to play. Obviously you can say that i am angry about the situation and really offended because i payed full price for a only online game.. i even payed extra for both riper of souls and vanilla for an collectors editions now i don't know why i you guys (blizzard support) seem to don't give a !@#$% but its really bad guys and for now i cant play ....... I'm sorry if this post offended anyone i didn't mean to offend anyone just to tell you my experience with the support and Diablo 3 for the last half year ... |

Hi there SaRx, Do you have a ticket ID so I can have a look over the data you submitted myself? I don't see any tickets on this account so I assume you made it on another and I'd like to take a look. The last forum post you made about this, it was pretty clear that your connection was having some problems outside of our infrastructure and we're not currently aware of any server issues right now that would cause such high latency. Therefore, while we do care about your situation, we can't fix something that we have no control over. I wish we could, but we can't. Feel free to post another Trace Route and Pathping below too, but I think you need to sort this out with your service provider (who, unfortunately, may also have little control over the actual cause of the issues due to the way your traffic is being routed). ------------------------------------------------------------- Please click here to give me your feedback on this post! |

So, those traces definitely look a little less problematic than your previous one. They don't ping around the world too much and it's entering Europe via a more traditional route. However, you're still experiencing a lot of strange inconsistencies, look; 2 41 ms 69 ms 57 ms 87.68.152.254.cable.012.net.il [87.68.152.254] 69 ms on the second hop (most likely the connection from your house to your local exchange) is unusually high. And then it goes back down to the teens on hop 5. 6 119 ms 120 ms 143 ms 80.179.166.134.static.012.net.il [80.179.166.134] 7 142 ms 109 ms 122 ms ffm-s2-rou-1041.DE.eurorings.net [134.222.142.1] Once your ISP hands over to international infrastructure, we start to see high latency - not game-breaking by any means, but definitely high and not unsurprisingly, bearing in mind the distance it has to travel. The transition from infrastructure to Telia is also showing similar minor inconsistencies that we can ask our network partners to investigate, however these figures could very well be warped by issues earlier in the chain. Combined, these things are going to cause latency for you when using certain EU online services SaRx, but the numbers you describe do sound a little extreme. The next time you see very high ingame latency numbers, could you run a Looking Glass report and paste the results below? This traces the route from our servers to your computer and may shed more light on these inconsistent figures. Please also note the date/time you ran the report and include that in your post. Thanks! everyother game is working perfectly fine You've tried every single online videogame currently in existence?! ------------------------------------------------------------- Please click here to give me your feedback on this post! |

8 80.179.166.141.static.012.net.il (80.179.166.141) 72.409 ms 71.555 ms 71.536 ms Again, we're seeing an (expected) latency increase in one of you ISP nodes. However, as mentioned before, while these numbers may cause some issues, they shouldn't be causing such high latency. There's no packet loss down the chain from what I can see so you should be able to connect normally, albeit with slightly inflated latency numbers. As a courtesy, I'll pass this data on to our network engineers and see if they have any ideas what might be causing it. As for the timing of the incidents, I'm wondering if something in the chain is 'throttling' the Diablo III data packets like some ISPs do with MMO traffic. ------------------------------------------------------------- Please click here to give me your feedback on this post! |
