BrownieMix #1890 | [FEEDBACK] Actual Zunimassa Testing Results(1) | Category: PTR FeedbackMarch-12-2015 3:59 PM PDT (10 years ago) |
So while I know there are a bunch of threads about what people think about Zuni, how terrible it is, how bad WD's are, etc etc., I thought it would be a good idea to create a separate thread for the sole purpose of stating actual testing results and feedback. This way we can try to keep things constructive and informative, and (hopefully) avoid posts which solely consist of "Blizz [insert negative comment here]" So I guess I'll start things off. Here is what I tested and what happened: BrownieMix - p603(at start of testing) Hardcore Carnevil WD Initial Gear (* = Ancient) - Zuni Chest, Boots*, Mojo*, Cain Gloves*, Pants*, Carnevil (helm), Aughid's Shoulders*, Bracers*, Dagger of Darts, Blackthorne's Amulet, The Witching Hour, RoRG, Unity. Gems - GoGok(41), Enforcer(41), Simplicity's Strength(41) Skills - PD(SttF), Piranhas (Frozen Piranhas), FA - (Legion of Daggers), Spirit Walk (Jaunt), Haunt (Poisoned Spirit), BBV (Slam Dance) Passives - Spirit Vessel, Jungle Fortitude, Pierce The Veil, Fetish Sycophants Best GR on Live - 38 FS PROC RATE INCREASED TO 15%(PREVIOUSLY 10%) - This change is absolutely fantastic and immediately noticeable. My FS are almost always at 15, and the increased damage from having all 15 up more frequently is great as well. 4P BONUS -With the exact same gear setup as on Live, I was able to clear GR 39 with ample room to spare. I tried a GR 40 and while I came close, I didn't have enough DPS to get it down (and it was a "good" rift in terms of monster type). I observed that my pet toughness was waaaaaaaaay better. In the GR 40, my fetishes were constantly hit by arcane beams, jailer, molten...and I only lost one FA the entire time. As you'll see below, in my 6p testing I got all the way to GR 42 and again only ever lost one FA. On Live, I frequently have all of my fetishes wiped out from arcane and jailer on GR 38. As for the toughness bonus to my actual WD, I estimated that it was roughly a 2-3 GR lvl improvement. In other words, the damage I took at GR 40 in the PTR felt like what GR 38 feels like on live. Overall, a fantastic bonus to pet toughness, with a moderate bonus to actual WD toughness. 6P BONUS - I switched out my Ancient Cain's Gloves and Legs for regular Zuni Gloves and Legs with roughly comparable stats. I wasn't sure what to expect from the 150% damage bonus...and came away pleasantly surprised. I was able to clear GR 42 - a 4 GR increase from Live. I found that by using just Haunt and Frozen Piranhas I was able to have that 150% up a lot of the time, and it made a big difference. This is especially noticeable on RGs, where by applying Haunt every four seconds reduces the time to kill a RG pretty nicely. CONCLUSIONS Obviously these only apply to Hardcore Carnevil testing: - The increase in FS proc rate is great. - The 2p bonus should allow greater gear flexibility, but I didn't really test this. - The 4p bonus provides a huge boost to pet toughness and a moderate boost to WD toughness. That said, I don't see the 4p bonus as a way to replace 2x Unity, especially for Hardcore. - The 6p bonus is definitely a DPS increase which fits in nicely and easily into the preexisting Carnevil playstyle. - I went from GR 38 on Live to GR 39 with 4p and GR 42 with 6p. |

So while I know there are a bunch of threads about what people think about Zuni, how terrible it is, how bad WD's are, etc etc., I thought it would be a good idea to create a separate thread for the sole purpose of stating actual testing results and feedback. Getting to hear about how a variety of builds work or don't work with each of the sets being tested on the PTR is super helpful. There are lots of ways to use a set, and considerations to keep in mind for each one. For instance, using Carnevil with the updated Zunimassa's Haunt may encourage you to use different supporting gear or skills than if you opt for Mask of Jeram. At any rate, this is great stuff, and I'll definitely be passing it on. I can't wait to see more from you and others about what's working or not, and why, both for this set and the others that are being added or revamped on the PTR. Thanks for sharing this, BrownieMix! |
