Frame drops on default setting(1)Category: Mac Technical SupportNovember-30-2014 1:43 PM PST (10 years ago) Go to Blizzard forum post
Hello!

I'm playing Diablo 3 with Reaper of Souls on my 13" MacBook Pro with retina display from 2014. I'm using defaul and recommened setting for my Mac, but still I'm having frame drops and some time game is unplayable. In the cities I have around 30-40 fps, but within fight with lots of monsters framerate drops to 8 or 9 for a seconds. It really drive me crazy. Srly? What is it happening to me?

I believe these are on by default, but can you check that Vertical Sync and Max Foreground FPS is checked. I'd recommend limited to 60 FPS to start to see if that improves performance at all.

If those are already set, can you post some additional info about your Mac?

    1. Click on the Apple Menu while holding down the Option key and select System Profiler (10.6.8) / System Information (10.7 and later).
    2. Copy the information from the following sections and paste them into your post. Please copy in the following order: Hardware Overview, Graphics, and Software. Do not include any serial numbers, hardware UUIDs, or account/login names or information in your post.

Can you try enabling Synchronizacja pionowa (Vertical Sync) and see if the performance improves? Also, is there anything else open that could be stealing focus while playing?
