[GENERAL INFO] Grimiku: Tell us a bit about yourself. RAKIMALLAH: First, ty kindly for the invitation. I've been a bartender for nearly 12 years. What about you Grimiku? A/S/L? Grimiku: Did I really just get A/S/L'd? Got any cool hobbies or talents? RAKIMALLAH: I just co-managed, headlined and promoted in my 3rd show - a James Brown Tribute. It drew over 600 tickets which here in Delaware, is kind of a big deal. But I aspire to move to Las Vegas to tend bar and become a professional musician/promoter. Grimiku: How long have you been playing Diablo games? RAKIMALLAH: Started playing with diablo 2 years and years ago. Probably in college. But, I spent most of my time playing WoW from 2007 to 2011 pretty hardcore. Shout out to Velen, I was exceptionally well known on that server. Grimiku: What other games are you currently playing right now (if any)? RAKIMALLAH: I don't have time for other games. Lately I haven't had enough time for this one. Grimiku: Do you play any other classes? RAKIMALLAH: What is this "other classes" you speak of? You mean followers? Grimiku: Are you in a great clan or community? If yes, tell us about them! RAKIMALLAH: yes! I am in Forsaken Voodoo <VUDU>. I snuck in early during the first wave of recruitment. I am pretty well known in the WD community so I was extended an invite without having to apply. It’s an awesome community with many, many knowledgeable and helpful players, and not a lot of drama at all. Grimiku: What achievement do you have that you’re the most proud of? RAKIMALLAH: Earning the respect of the community of WDs is my proudest achievement. Likewise for this interview. Grimiku: What's your most embarrassing moment while playing? RAKIMALLAH: I salved a pair of Illusory Boots early in the expansion. Like a boss. I was never lucky enough to loot another pair despite act 2 bounties farming for weeks. Grimiku: Okay, what about your most AWESOME moment while playing? RAKIMALLAH: In D3 I guess it would be the day I found my SMK. Took to para level 532. I pretty much blew up clan chat and forums with something like "CAN YOU SMELL WHAT THE RAKI IS LOOTING!!" |

[MY STRIKE IS TRUE] Grimiku: What drew you to the Witch Doctor? RAKIMALLAH: They are black. So am I. I would play Tyrael if I could. Speaking of which, I do a mean Tyrael impression. "Lothar, why are you staring at Kadala?" So if Jonathan Adams quits his job, I have all the qualifications. The voice and the black. Grimiku: What’s the voodoo that you do: do you drain your foes' life force over time, unleash your minions upon them, or call forth a surge of power to crush them? RAKIMALLAH: I have ten witch doctors. Depends on my mood and party composition. Grimiku: What's your favorite skill (or skill rune), and why? RAKIMALLAH: Mass Confusion. It's too much fun to watch monsters turn around and start beating on each other. Grimiku: What build are you running currently? RAKIMALLAH: Again, 10 witch doctors. But if I were to say which is my favorite to play, it's my WD 'Unbeknowst' who runs a build I developed called "Entourage". It's listed among the witch doctor builds pinned to the WD forums. Grimiku: If there was one thing you could change about the Witch Doctor, what would it be? RAKIMALLAH: I am fine with the class, but PaulNG (in his interview) brings up a very good point in there should be a reward system. Like in WoW's Justice points design and quests for rewards. The purely RNG loot system is kinda cool, but wears on you after a while for those that play heavily like I've done. By making a few specialty items earnable, I think it would encourage a longer shelf-life. Grimiku: Name one piece of advice that you think every Witch Doctor should know. RAKIMALLAH: Experiment and have fun, play multiple WDs and join a WD clan. Grimiku: Which Witch Doctor minion would want as a pet in real life? RAKIMALLAH: Gary the gargantuan. He's entertainingly mentally challenged, but not one to be messed with. Like Sloth from the Goonies. Grimiku: Who’s your favorite fictional doctor (from literature, movies, television, video games, etc)? RAKIMALLAH: Doc Brown from Back to the Future. I grew my hair out for my JB show and now it resembles Doc's. "GREAT SCOTT!" Grimiku: Pick a Witch Doctor quote! RAKIMALLAH: No way (see what I did there? This guy is clever) |

[WHO'S NEXT?] Grimiku: Which Witch Doctor should we interview next? RAKIMALLAH: One of my favorite players is HowseOgre #1411 He's been playing since expansion at least. Grimiku: Pick a question to ask in the next interview: RAKIMALLAH: Do you roleplay even when you are aren't playing D3? 'Cause you should. Got any questions yourself for RAKIMALLAH? Post them below! |
