Khoaker: I am a 29 year old male who grew up and still lives in Orange County, California. I have a wife and toddler girl who just turned 2. I work for Boeing Commercial as an Engineer. Due to the job and family, I really only have 2-3 hours a night to play but I’ve learned to live with that!

Khoaker: I can play the piano/guitar and sing but nothing professional or (in my opinion) very good. I do it for fun. Being a dad is probably my coolest hobby/talent currently though 

Khoaker: None at the moment. I just can’t find the time to invest myself into more than 1 game. I’m a pretty big fan of MMORPGs, dating back to Everquest 1; but now I just don’t have the time to go on 6 + hour raids. I also enjoy FPS but I was only ever decent at Counterstrike and never played another FPS seriously after that.

Khoaker: Yes, I have all classes at level 70, however I really only play Witch Doctor, Wizard, and rarely my Crusader and Monk. As much as I love the DH class, if I am feeling really lazy I will hop on my Witch Doctor. Yes, the DH is already easy enough to play with Marauder; but with the Witch Doctor, I get all of the laziness of pets but also very nice damage mitigation due to INTAR and Uhkapian Serpent.

Khoaker: I am in a very small, “mock” clan consisting of a few RL friends. Since I can only play a couple of hours a night, I can’t/won’t join a competitive clan since I cannot invest my time.

I join various communities depending on the class I am playing. I enjoy the ability to join a class community and group farm with other similar classes and give things I don’t need or vice versa.

I also recently found, on the forums, a community of demon hunters whose sole purpose is to literally vault through the game as fast as possible. The name is Speed Hacks, but don’t let the name fool you. There are no hacks here… just a clever use of different items and skills that let us vault at 285% move speed :)

Khoaker: I like where my Demon Hunter is at the moment. I would like a pair of Hexing Pants to open up various build options.

Khoaker: We are a pretty squishy class so I’ve had many moments where I’ve died multiple times to the same elite. I think the worst times are when you die immediately after being resurrected. I don’t know the exact game mechanic but if you self-resurrect, you have a small window where you are a “ghost” and can move to safety. However if you are in the middle of a self-resurrect, and someone resurrects you, there is no “Accept resurrect” toggle, you just appear where you died without immunity. I have died many times in that scenario :)

Khoaker: I have to list two here because they are both equally awesome. I was farming for the Ring of Royal Grandeur for a VERY long time, enough to get 4 maces, 5 shoulders, 2 amulets, and 6 bracers. I just went through probably 10 runs so I had 10 caches waiting in my inventory.

One by one I opened them and died a little on the inside after each one yielded nothing. I was on the very last cache and at this point I had already given up hope. But, I clicked on the cache and I heard the all too familiar ding accompanied by that beautiful orange star on the map. My heart jumped when I saw the Orange Text “ring” on the floor.

The other AWESOME moment for me was the first time I got my dual Danettas and started vaulting around at 285% move speed. I was grinning ear to ear…

Khoaker: What do you mean if she had a chance to build it? I forward through all the cutscenes, did I miss something? Hehe, just kidding… she would have named it “The Journeyman’s Sanctuary”

Khoaker: In most games I’ve played, I always lean towards the rogue or ranged type. I main’d an Amazon in D2 so I figure why not another ranged class in D3. I thought their skill animations looked the coolest out of the other classes so that also veered me in the DH direction.

Khoaker: My gameplay has changed many times over the course of D3. I hate to admit it, but I’m a FotM player; I usually try to run the best builds. I did run a very interesting “Immortal DH” in early D3 that was based on high LoH stacking paired with Caltrops/Gas grenades/Chakram, before their proc coefficient was severely nerfed of course! (Shout-out goes to Lopdog who came up with this build. I don’t know if he plays anymore though…)
Ideally, I would enjoy the latter of your choices, being just out of reach using our mobility and snare skills while spraying down the enemy with arrows and bombs. There is nothing more satisfying than facing a seemingly impossible group of bad guys and using the perfect combination of timing and crowd control skills to keep them at bay while blowing them up with Cluster Arrows.

I think this is one of the skills that define our class. I can’t help but hear “ninja, vanish” when I think of the skill. It is unique from other classes because it is on such a short cool down; we are able to use it more than once in a short amount of time to get out sticky situations. The fact that it grants me health is also really nice since my current turret build does not give me life on hit or life on kill.

Khoaker: Going along with my FoTM statement earlier, I am running Marauder 6 – fire based, Multi-shot:Arsenal and Cluster Arrow: LFB. When 2.1 comes along, I will most likely stick with Marauder but I will throw in a 3rd spender since the attack speed bug will be fixed.

Khoaker: I might have to cheat on this question and list more than one thing, but I will try my best to keep this brief.

The main thing I would change is to somehow give us builds that can compete with Marauder 6 in terms of High Tier Rift efficiency. Most of the community will tell you the same thing, however we all know this is not an easy task. Some think the only way to do this is to take the nerf bat to Marauder 6, but I am not in that boat. I think there are ways you can give us new sets or legendaries that compete with M6 slots such that we cannot use both at the same time. Those sets and legendaries should greatly enhance our skills such that they are on par with M6.
This brings me to the 2nd thing I would change; we need more special affixes on our gear! If you look at the Crusader, every single flail and shield have special legendary affixes whereas less than half of our quivers/1hxbow/bow/2hxbow have legendary affixes. It would be nice to see things like “impale gains all runes” or “all knife skills now do 100% more damage.” A lot of the DH community will agree that the Calamity, Kridershot, and Chanon bolter does not compete with the amount of effectiveness you get with a Wand of Woh, Starmetal Kukri, Fate of the Fell, Darklight, Lutz Socks etc…
I also think there is a lot of potential in specialized builds since, other than arrows, we have a very specific set of knife skills and grenade skills. Why can’t we have a set made for grenades, and another set for knife skills?
One last thing (I promise). It would be cool to see a DH set dagger for a knife set. If this came to fruition, it would be nice to see the DH have the ability to dual wield. It doesn’t make sense to me that DH could not dual wield from launch.

Khoaker: What is your biggest suggestion on how to improve build diversity in the DH class.

Next up is probably Redcell.
My guess is that they did two interviews initially (mines and Kirus) so after Kirus' interview, they had time to interview Kirus' pick while releasing my interview.
They will probably release RedCell's interview soon and then do Nyan's after that while interviewing whoever RedCell nominates.
