Busy Times in Diablo III With Season 4

Hotfixes and server restarts implement changes to deal with bugs and issues

Diablo III Season 4
It has been nearly a week since Season 4 landed in Diablo III, and players are busy leveling up new heroes and trying out all the new features from Patch 2.3, along with acquiring the special Season 4 items. As is typical in the days following a big patch, there have been hotfixes and other server tweaks to deal with the bugs that have cropped up. Here are the latest issues to be aware of, to keep from running into problems in the game!

Patch 2.3.0 Hotfixes
A few hotfixes rolled out to take care of a handful of issues. There will be more down the road, as further bugs are squashed.
Below you will find a list of hotfixes recently applied or coming soon that address various bugs or mechanic tweaks.

These hotfixes should not require you to download a new patch. Some of the hotfixes below will go live the moment they are implemented while others may require restarting the game to go into effect. Please keep in mind that some issues cannot be addressed without a client-side patch. Also note that changes to certain abilities will not be reflected in its tooltip until a patch is issued.

Last updated September 25. Hotfixes are denoted by the date they were applied to live servers.

Hotfixes for Consoles
The fixes listed above are not yet out for Diablo III on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One Ultimate Evil Edition, but will come at a future time.
We're still planning on applying those hotfixes to UEE on Xbox One and PS4, but we do not have a time frame to share at the moment. We'll be sure to give you all an update as soon as we're able to, though.

Server Tools Implemented
A round of server restarts earlier this week were part of a process to add new tools behind the scenes. They will allow the Diablo III Quality Assurance department to more easily track down issues in the game, like Bounties that can't be completed.
Just as a quick heads up, what's going on here is a small deployment of fixes that gives us improved behind-the-scenes tools used to identify issues, such as when a bounty cannot be properly completed. We're working on some additional related hotfixes that should deploy later this week.

Amazing thing is not a blue post in sight.

We originally believed this rollout would happen similar to hotfixes, where there generally isn't an interruption to gameplay. Clearly this wasn't the case, and we've already passed on feedback regarding this process so that we can better inform players of what to expect. In the meantime, our apologies for underestimating this impact to your game experience.

Lost clan chat after sever restart

Posted by: Crazyzach3

So did my entire clan, its not just you

Passing these reports on now. Thanks for letting us know!

Not to speak for them, but from what nev said above it's all behind the scenes stuff (cs tools, etc).

Yep; even the explanation I gave above is super super generic and basic. It's all very technical stuff that, honestly, would be more confusing or misleading than helpful to explain.

As for the missing clan chat, it should return shortly. Clan chat clears after any server restart, so just give it a little time. :) You'll be back to sharing your legendaries and honoring the deaths of your Hardcore buddies in no time.

Can you plz clarify what is getting hot fixed in patch notes or hotfix thread. Hoping to see area damage fixed for HOTA, FNR and I know few others like EP. Also the bugged bounties...thx:-)

None of these things are involved in these fixes; this is just behind the scenes stuff.

That's not to say we don't have other hotfixes in the works. Once those are more finalized, tested, and ready to roll out, we'll update the hotfix thread accordingly!

Patch 2.3.0 Known Issues
The official list of bugs that the QA department is tracking includes those pesky Bounties, and the ongoing issues with crashes in the Diablo III client on computers with some AMD graphics cards.
Hello everyone, and welcome to Patch 2.4.1! Below you will find the Known Issues list for our 2.4.1 patch. Please do not report bugs that you see on this list, as we already know about them, and help out other players reporting bugs by referring them to this list.

As a reminder, this list will not list every bug that is active in the 2.4.1 patch. What it is listed here are a select few issues -- chosen due to visibility and impact -- that are active and confirmed as bugs by Quality Assurance with verifiable steps and (in most cases) an expected fix. Just because a bug is not on this list does not mean we don't know about it! In addition, potential exploits and the like will never be listed here.

Please note that documented bugs may not always be fixed in the order in which they were reported. In some cases, we may not have a timeline for a when a bug will be fixed and some bugs may not be able to be fixed at all. If we are able to verify that a documented bug cannot be fixed, it will be removed from this list.

Thank you for your continued reports, and enjoy Diablo III!!!
