Patch 2.1.2 PTR Extended Into 2015
More news in January about the patch release and the arrival of Season 2
Diablo III Patch 2.1.2 has been on the Public Test Realm for just over a month, and it will be there a little while longer before it goes live. The testing process has been extended into 2015, with more information coming in January about the new patch, and the change from Season 1 into Season 2!
Patch 2.1.2 is nearly wrapped up, and we can expect to see it released in January, as well as info about the end of Season 1 and the start of Season 2. In the meantime players can do extra testing on the PTR, as they prepare for the new patch!
PTR Available Through Holiday Break
The holidays are in full swing, and many people are taking off work for extra time with friends and family as 2014 reaches the end. The Diablo team at Blizzard is doing the same, and they have extended the testing time for the PTR of patch 2.1.2 over the holidays. Nevalistis provided the details about the patch that was originally expected to be released in December, but will now likely arrive in January.

Hey everyone!
Just a quick heads up that the patch 2.1.2 PTR will be available through the holidays. While we initially planned for a shorter public testing phase, we feel this additional time has improved the quality of the patch, as well as allowed players like you to experiment with (and prepare for) all the upcoming changes. We’re excited to get patch 2.1.2 and Season 2 into your hands and look forward to sharing more information about both updates in the new year.
In the meantime, thank you, as always, for your diligent testing and amazing feedback. We wish you the warmest and happiest of holidays, and can't wait to see you in 2015!

Legendary Workshop 2.0 Ideas
The Legendary Workshop community event brought about one idea that will eventually arrive on a Legendary item. A great battle.net thread has been collecting many more ideas for the developers to consider, for future Legendary or Set items.

Cool ideas, XelNagalvan!
I've been following this thread since November, and it's good to see it's still going. It's fun to read new Legendary item ideas, and imagine how they might or might not work when measured against the design goals John and Julian mentioned.
I've started incorporating the design goals we discussed on stream whenever I come up with new item ideas on my own (just for fun). I hope that they'll be similarly useful for those who enjoy doing the same, and serve as a reference for brainstorming sessions in the future.
All that said, I enjoy reading these and I'm looking forward to seeing more!

Realm of Trials Iteration
The Realm of Trials used at the start of Greater Rifts is being tweaked a little in patch 2.1.2 to provide a better gameplay experience. We might see more changes, likely in patch 2.2, as the developers iterate on the process for getting players into Greater Rifts.

We're not happy with the Realm of Trials, and we've been tinkering around with various improvements. What I appreciate most about this thread is the friendly discourse, thorough discussion about why you feel the way you do about Trials, and the ideas being tossed around.
Great to see; I'm always taking notes!
