Blizzard Blues: Followers & Set Items, Lag at Maghda

Info on a missing achievement criteria and more

Here are some of the recent Blizzard blue posts that may have been missed over the weekend. The biggest issue addressed by Blizzard posters recently was the info we reported earlier about higher damage in Inferno after patch 1.0.5a, especially with the Molten elite monster ability stacking in damage. No new information has been released from Blizzard about the possible issues there.

Some other recent issues addressed include a bug causing very low frame rates in the Maghda boss arena, thoughts on using set items with Followers, and issues with the Victory conversation with Covetous Shen preventing the completion of achievements. Jump past the break for all the details.

Multiple conversation achievements are being held up by the criteria of having a Victory conversation with Covetous Shen, which is not available. Apparently this was an issue that was fixed before, but cropped back up in patch 1.0.5. The official response:

Thanks for the reports guys. The "Victory" conversation was removed from the requirement for this achievement awhile back, not sure how it got re-added.

Soooooooo.......does this mean you are going to fix it?

Yes, we're going to fix it.

A bug has been causing very low frame rates in the Maghda boss fight. Apparently this was an issue with a sound file being spammed over and over; as mentioned, this has also been added to the 1.0.5 Known Issues List:

Hey guys,

Thanks for your reports. This bug actually is not related to your computers, but a bug within the Maghda arena. There is a specific sound file that is producing an error over and over, spamming the client with this error message. This is only happening in the Maghda arena, and will be fixed in an upcoming patch.

I'll update the Known Issues as well now that I know the cause of this.

A recent discussion about how set items do not provide their bonuses through when equipped by Followers, brought a response that referred back to another recent blue post on the topic:

As it stands currently, in order to receive the benefits of set bonuses, the set items need to be equipped on your main character. Set items equipped on Followers will not contribute to set bonuses.

We’re aware that this isn’t ideal, and we’re looking into some possibilities that would make using set items on Followers a more appealing choice in the future.

As always, our Blue Tracker shows the latest posts from Blizzrard blue posters, as they happen.
