Battle.net damaged d3 install + internet speed drops.(1)Category: Technical SupportFebruary-26-2014 3:12 AM PST (9 years ago) Go to Blizzard forum post
Pretty much the title - Looking for help on the issuee of battle.net launcher dropping internet connection.

The Battle.net launcher completly ruined my D3 install to the point I had to uninstall D3 completly and attempt to download it again from scratch. It got it's self stuck on 32.2% of the "optimizing game" function and eventually battle.net just completly greyed out and started crashing every time I tried to "Optimize" the directory.

I have then tried to re-install Diablo 3 from scratch and unfortunatly it wont let me do it without using the Battle.net launcher for some reason so I had to reinstall the battle.net launcher aswell.

What happens is the Diablo 3 will start to install at 5 Mb/s - 6 Mb/s for about a minute and then the connection speed will start to drop slowly until reaching 0 then stay there untill I pause it and click resume. Problem is the game only downloads about 0.4% every time so I dont want to click the pause / resume 250 times to get the game to install.

I have tried:
  • Disabling P2P
    Using Direct Download
    Disabling UNP on the router
    Wifi and Wired download
    uninstall battle./net
MSCONFIG and stopping everything on start up
    disabling Network discovery
Uninstalling my Anti-virus / disabling my firewall

    Hello,

Could I ask what router you're using at the moment?

Also would it be possible to get what network adapter you're using?

Would it be possible to cut the Belkin router out, connect directly to the SuperHub (with uPnP still disabled on it), then see if you still get this?

Not saying to permanently run like that, just to see if we can locate the cause.
