| I haven't played Diablo 3 since about 2 months after its launch, but now that I want to download it again, I get that error. I wanted to play Starcraft 2 instead and ended up getting the same error! I can't even download the game, I'm not even passing the launcher, which seems to stop at "Updating Battle.net Agent". I looked at the support link for ideas, and enabled secondary logon, updated windows, removed all background programs, disabled my antivirus, deleted the programdata Battle.net folder, disabled all startup programs, restarted my PC, downloaded patches manually and so on and so forth, yet nothing seems to get by that stupid launcher update. At first, I was like "I'll just go play something else", but I didn't pay 100+$ for Starcraft 2's collector edition, prepaid HotS and Diablo 3 for a stupid launcher to prevent me from playing the game that I like. | ||

| Evenkurugan I'm glad to see that you were able to work around the issue. Did you try running the launcher as an admin by right clicking on the launcher and selecting"Run as admin"? If not, this may have been due to lack of permissions. Another possibility might have been that you only disabled your security software. Some security programs can be pretty stubborn, and simply disabling them is not enough.
