Frame rate performance Issues; please help.(1)Category: Technical SupportJuly-28-2013 9:30 PM PDT (9 years ago) Go to Blizzard forum post
Hi there,

So, as I play, often, my frame rate takes a dip. I have vertical sync enabled. As i play 60FPS will show and then i'll lose frames and it will display 48 or 51 or 44 or whatever.

I've tried everything i can think of. Updated drivers, updated windows; Even putting everything in the video section of options to low and crappy.

My GPU is a Geforce GTX 580, I have 12GB of ram and running a i7 960 @ 3.2 GHz CPU.
windows 7 pro
internet speeds exceed 50MB/s down and 12 MB/s up.

Incidentally, this is a new occurrence in the newest patch of 1.08. In earlier patches, i never had this issue.

Any tips or further help is much appreciated

thanks in advance.

Please post your DXDIAG file so we can get more information about your computer.

Here's a support article that will show you how to get the DXDIAG:

Obtaining System Files

Once you have the DXDIAG file, open it and copy/paste the entire file into your next reply.

Lets try a different video driver to see if that helps. Uninstall the current driver by using a program called Driver Sweeper. This program will ensure that all previous driver files are completely removed.

Here's a link to the Driver Sweeper download: http://www.techspot.com/downloads/4266-driver-sweeper.html

1. Run Driver Sweeper.
2. Click on "Nvidia - Display" and "Nvidia - PhysX".
3. Click on "Analyze".
4. Then click on "Clean" once Driver Sweeper is done analyzing.
5. Reboot the system if you are asked do to so.

Here's a link for the new driver download: http://www.nvidia.com/object/win8-win7-winvista-64bit-314.07-whql-driver.html

When you are going to install the driver I would like for you to select Custom Install > Graphic Driver only.
