Thought I'd share my little story this fine morning...

I've decided to put Diablo III behind me. I had a good time while I was hear and it was Fun, no matter what some others would tell you.

So I decided it's time to get out...

In all my time playing, believe it or not I never sold a thing on the RMAH... I just didn't care to much to bother, even though I updated countless items while I played, my old items just sort of just rotted in my stash at times.

So I made my first mistake....

I put up ten items... all of which can be seen in the trade forum, under a recent post of mine, which outlined the items I was putting up for trade in the RMAH. 1 Item sold fairly quickly for 250 dollars.... Yay Me I thought. By the time I got home from work, I had sold a second item for about 200 dollars. Yay me I though again.

By this time the first item's amount became available to me in my Battle Net account... (and here is where I learned of my first mistake) I tried to withdraw my battle net account... Of course I couldn't find the option to do this.. and within a few minutes I realized I'm not even allowed to withdraw from my battle.net account. Thus I had a real Homer "Doh!" moment.

So I thought about that a bit.... And later that evening I decided to buy 566 Rad rubies with my Battle.net account. Which of course went under review.

After realizing the whole Battle.net balance fiasco, I also relisted all actions from that point forward to go to paypal.. (never making that mistake again.)

Anyways... the following day after work... The proceeds of the second items I had sold was finally released to my Battle.net account. and the purchase of the 566 Rad rubies was also approved and in my stash. So I sold the 566 Rad Rubies to Paypal this time, getting back most of my losses (not included Battle.net - Loan shark Fee's - not even the banks make 15% on our money). And I was happy with that. I then Used the remaining near 200 dollars in my battle.net balance to purchase More Rad Rubies.

A few hours later as I was getting to bed, My phone begain to make a lot of jingle noises (which means I'm receiving a lot of emails...) I presumed those emails were going to tell me about approved sales and or money in my paypal account. I went to sleep with a smile on my face. Turns out though I was WRONG.

Next morning I checked my messages... To find out that all my auctions were cancelled, and my account has been suspended due to trading activity.

I'm quite peeved off... I have a right to cash out if I want too, and blizzard shouldn't tell me I can't. Secondly this isn't an mean's of investing, as I have put far more in then I'll ever get out.

Is using rubies to do what I did, make me wrong? would it be any different if I purchased the top 250 buck mempo only to put it up again for 240 any different? Cause it would of accomplished the same thing.

This isn't an investment opportunity, it's me walking away from diablo, and taking a small portion of the money I put into it back. That's all. Besides Blizzard takes a huge cut of every sale I make to my Paypal account, so why the hell should they care anyway?

Anyway, I've opened a ticket.. But I just wanted to share. I'm sure some of you will think I got what I deserved... But I would argue the opposite.

I guess my question is what did I do wrong?

Is it really against the rules to buy Mass rubies and sell them immediately at a loss?

What would be the difference if I had did the mempo instead?

How can one be more or less wrong then the other?

And really what business is it to Blizzard what I do with my Money?

Hi Poobah,

I checked the ticket in queue and I just wanted you to know that we're going to be investigating this in more detail. The account appears to have been automatically locked by the system which reviews the transactions. Although it's not immediately clear to me what exactly triggered this - the system in general will try to halt transactions if we see that the buyer and the seller are the same person/account. How this could have happened in this specific case is unknown to me, but that's what we're going to be checking out.

I wanted to thank you for your patience in the meantime, I've sent a detailed message to the audit system's administrators so that we can get this resolved as soon as possible. Meanwhile, I'll be closing up the thread and do ask that if you need to chat with us in more detail about any specifics pertaining to your account, that you respond to the ticket once we get back to you.

P.S. A big thank you to MissCheetah, your explanation was great :)
