| Back in April, i was hacked. Account was taken over by some Chinese guy. Blizzard's support team was kind and efficient, returned my account in no time. My account was inactive for exactly 4 months and 1 day before it was hacked, and it was done even when i had an authenticator. My only concern, I have maxed my Monk. Being able to solo ubers mp10 and carry anyone through mp10 runs, I find it troubling to play again until 1.0.9. That patch isn't for a few months. I hope my account doesn't get hacked again while i am inactive. | ||

| Hi Blood, the only authenticator I see that was applied to the account prior to the rollback, was the one that was applied by the compromising party themselves. I think it's important to reinforce that no security can claim to be 100%, but we also want to be clear about the strength of the authenticator and its value in protecting the accounts. Please contact us directly if you have any specific concerns you'd like to discuss with us. Keep in mind, in addition to the authenticator we also encourage the use of the SMS Protect, which will help notify you in case of any changes to your account. | My aim in jumping into the thead is merely to clear up something that holds important value for us, as we believe it should for our players as well. It's not about the intention of why this information was presented in the public forum - but we do have an interest in setting the record straight. As such, I'll lock up the thread as I'd prefer this not to spiral off topic. Again, to speak to the point - the authenticators are your best line of defense, and having that set up along with the SMS Protect will do well in helping to make sure nothing weird happens with the account. | ||
