| Decided to play Diablo 3 after several months of not playing and it won't open. Launcher updates fine, then the game opens to a black screen. I can see the cursor and hear the music for about 5 seconds then it crashes saying "Diablo III Retail has stopped working". Here's the last few lines of the D3Debug.txt file. | Zaide,, You know, I thought this "Err = 80004005 : E_FAIL" was a Diablo III related error message but it looks like it may be something corrupted in Windows instead. Googling "Err = 80004005 : E_FAIL" turns up a lot of articles for the error, mostly dealing with being unable to install Service Pack 1 for Windows 7. Did you do an in-place upgrade to get Windows 8 on your PC? I'd suggest running Microsoft's System File Checker utility to see if can detect and repair any corrupted files in the installation.
