| Hope there is a simple answer to my problem. I will play for 20 mins then the fps drop to 10 or less for like 20 mins. then it will snap out of it and be fine for another 20. Been going one for some time now. Any ideas? | ||

| Tippycanoe, As Ironclaw suggested, your symptom could be caused by the video card overheating. While capping the fps in the game might help, it's not really a solution if your video card isn't being cooled properly. First, we need to determine if that's the actual cause. Download and run HWMonitor from: http://www.cpuid.com/downloads/hwmonitor/1.21-setup.exe Now start the game and let it run several minutes. | Tippycanoe, 88C for the cpu is pretty high, though it depends somewhat on which cpu you have. Still, some cleaning may be in order. If it's a desktop model, unplug the computer, open it up, and using a can of compressed air, clean out the video card's fan and heatsink assembly. Make sure the cpu fan/heatsink is also free from dust buildup. That's often all it takes to restore proper cooling to it If it's a laptop model, unplug it from the AC adapter, remove the battery, and open all the compartment doors you can to expose as much of the inside as you can. Then using a can of compressed air, carefully try to get all the accumulated dust out of it. Blow into the exhaust and intake vents as well.
