| I am not the OP, hes a friend of mine that got his account wrongly banned for “exploiting the economy†the day 1.0.8 went live. Hes locked from posting so I’m posting this for him. He says hes super frustrated with the way blizzard has treated him that he feels almost betrayed by the one company he respected. Then i noticed that the price of gold has dropped. at this point i didn't even have the slightest clue that there was a gold bug. In the end i bought gold from a third party site that they claimed to be legal and legit. the site was www.mmohome.com. I was curious as to why the price went down so much so i asked mmohome support and they told me it was a promotion they had going on so i didn't think much of it and bought gold. Below is my paypal transaction from www.mmohome.com. the amount has been blacked out for privacy purposes but the point is that i did indeed buy the gold. i didn't dupe it. for those that can't read it, it says 10 billion gold. http://img545.imageshack.us/img545/7355/paypalh.pngnow, after the gold was delivered to me, i did any normal person would do. i went on the AH to shop for an upgrade. i repeat, to SHOP, not sell. and as far as i know, the gold dupe bug required selling on the AH. then all of a sudden, the AH went down. at this point i still had no idea there was a gold bug. So I went to work. When I tried logging on when I came back, my account was suspended out of the blue. I had to research around to see what actually happened and at this point I finally found that there was a bug with gold and that was why the AH went down. I get the email “The Diablo III license associated with this account was recently locked to investigate in-game economy abuse. We have completed our investigation and have sent an email to this Battle.net Account’s email address with the results of our findings and any actions taken.â€I originally thought that my account would be unsuspended when they finish their investigation but instead my status changes to banned. With the reason that I was “exploiting the economy†how is buying gold when its cheap exploiting the economy? How was I supposed to know that gold price dropped because there was a gold bug. Am I supposed to buy gold when the prices rise in order to feel safe from being banned? I even submitted proof of where the my gold came from in case of audit. How can I fail an audit when I provided EXACTLY where my gold came from. I submitted tickets explaining to them that I didn’t exploit the economy. I asked them what investigation that they did that ultimately concluded in my ban. If blizzard had actually investigated, they would have seen that I didn’t even use the AH that day beside buying an inna armor. I DIDNâ€T SELL ANYTHING but instead I get replies that don’t even answer what I’m asking. Just keep telling me to refer to their Terms of Use and Agreement page. I submitted a screenshot showing proof of purchase from my paypal account over and over. But blizzard didn’t even take a second look at reconsidering. I have submitted 4 tickets total but after the second ticket, my tickets get instantly rejected. I never felt more frustrated and disappointed with blizzard in my life. I just can’t believe blizzard would refuse to speak reason. I have provided everything on my end to proof that I’m innocent and had nothing to do with “exploiting the economy†but just because blizzard saw a burst of gold on my end, they assumed that I duped and thus banned me. No words can describe how poorly customer service has treated me. I have been a blizzard fan since the starcraft one days and I even scrambled around in order to get the collector’s edition on ebay for a very high price. If a blue sees this, i ask you guys to seriously and actually look into this issue because i didn't do anything that warrants my ban. i didn't sell anything on the AH, i didn't dupe any gold. am i really banned because i bought gold from a third party? I hope that if a blue sees this, he/she has the slightest decency to fix this. How can I trust blizzard if I know this can happen. | ||

| @ OP - I've taken a look at the ticket in question and I see that we originally reviewed the issue on 5/8 and then reviewed the account again on 5/11. When a determination is made that an action will be taken on an account, we review the issue thoroughly, and do offer (as we have done in this case) to review it again before making our final determination. If after we've reviewed the account multiple times and have come to the same conclusion in each case, we may no longer offer to have appeals submitted. That being said - I ask that you do not discuss account actions in the forums. Although we welcome feedback or criticism about Customer Support - any thread that discusses an account action will be locked. If ever any action is taken on an account, we do respond to the account holder with a link that they can use to have their issue appealed. For any general account issues, you or your friend are welcome to contact us directly through our support portal. We sincerely appreciate your understanding. | ||
