| this seems wrong, all my other games work just fine, including such titles as Sim city 2013, guildwars 2, wow and so on and so forth. why is D3 taking this + even longer to initialize? I last ran it last night, with no issues. | ||

| Salacious, At the stage you see this message, it's Agent loading and retrieving any new info it needs such as might come out with an update. If it's getting stuck, it's often due to an antivirus or firewall app interfering. It could also be corrupted cache data. We usually begin troubleshooting by deleting the cache data and existing Agent files and let the launcher start from scratch by getting a small bootloader version first then letting it update to the most current version. If this fails the same way, we move on to looking at programs you're running that may be stopping it from progressing. So, start with these two support articles first please. | Salacious, No, it should not. It shouldn't take much more than a minute or two. Can you check to see if your Internet Explorer browser is able to connect to the internet? The launcher uses the settings for it "behind the scenes" and anything preventing it from accessing the net could cause trouble.
