| Another wrongfully(?) banned account (ATTN: Araxom??)(1) | Category: GeneralMay-16-2013 11:35 AM PDT (10 years ago) ![]() | |
| I am posting this from my second (currently the only) account, since my account that's actually banned (redsolar#1792) got re-banned from the forum after I resubmitted a ticket last night and got a yet another canned response in return. TL;DR I was about ready to give up on my original (800+ hour) account, but after a friend alerted me to a response in this thread: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/8796551255 I got another hope of light, so I am hoping 'Araxom' can take a second look at my account. Last/most detailed ticket number (shows resolved, canned response listed below) is 37792294. Long time ago in a galaxy far far away... (wait, wrong game): Post 1.0.8 patch release, and after noticing that gold stack on RMAH has been changed to 10M I was watching to see how the gold market is going to react to the change. Since for some time I felt the most stable 'currency' in game has been Radiant Star Gems, those are the prices I was monitoring. Needless to say, I was in for a wild ride. After noticing that gems have went past 60M a piece (emeralds), I unsocketed 5 gems (3 from my Inna chest armor and 2 from my pants) and sold them at ~65M a piece. After listing the gems, I checked the flawless emerald cost, and noticed that they were still selling for ~11,000 gold a piece each at the time. So I purchased 21,000 of them for approximately 220M gold to craft (thanks patch 1.0.8 multicrafting capacity!) replacements for the ones I just sold and keep a few handy to prevent my gold from complete devaluation, should there be panic in the market after the 10-fold RMAH gold stack increase. After I purchased them, I crafted 3 RS Emeralds, and sold them as well after noticing that the price went up to ~125M a piece. I had about $20 in battle.net/RMAH balance, but decided to wait to see how market reacts to things for a day or 2 before spending it on anything, and definitely didn't want to buy any gems for that balance. I also had ~1.5B of gold listed in 5 stacks from the day before, which I was letting naturally expire without any expectations of selling at that point due to severe drops in gold prices. I also had a (very good) rare 1H axe and a Witching Hour belt listed on RMAH for ~$200 and ~$30 respectively (at this point I don't recall exact amounts). I made a few more gems, and resocketed my armors (still visible on my account, using link below). You may wonder how I reached that much gold to begin with, but I was lucky enough to drop a good dozen items (multiple Skorns, Lacuni w/Crit, Witching Hour) that sold for $10-30 each on RMAH, and my best drop ever, 170STR/100VIT/+250Armor/MS Ice Climbers which sold for $85. I also sold my inna's chest at some point for $65, and purchased a marginally lesser one (currently equipped) for 1/10th of that price. I used the RMAH balance to transfer it into gold via gems long before 1.0.8 dropped. Around the same time, a friend of mine, some gold from selling RS gems to his other account, as well as a few items he bought as upgrades for himself, to which I agreed without any suspicion. The total amount was approximately 40 billion gold and, I believe 8 items, mostly 1H socketed weapons and rings. In hindsight, I know it was suspicious, but at the time 40b was ~300 gems, and the price on RMAH varied to be as low as $0.25 per gem that day, so I didn't think much about that request, I have asked people to help me transter item(s) to my alternate account before, when I didn't have access to my second PC. At that point I left my PC idle for a while, and left the virtual world for real life issues. Upon returning to the virtual world of Diablo, I reached out to my friend trying to give him the items and the gold that he asked me to help him transfer between his accounts. I was unable to do so, since the gold trades were suspended between players at that time. I noticed that gold AH was also offline, and went to battle.net forums to find out why. At that point I learned about the gold duping issue which happened with 1.0.8 release. Shortly thereafter, I received a message from Diablo 3 client that my account was suspended and I was logged out. Within about an hour of that, I received the following email: The Diablo III account attached to this Battle.net account has been locked pending an investigation by our staff regarding possible participation in recent economy exploitation. Provided this investigation does not reveal any extraordinary circumstances, this account will be unlocked as soon as this investigation has concluded. Please note that should the investigation uncover illicitly gained currency and/or items, this account may receive adjustments to its in-game inventory, as appropriate. In certain cases, accounts may be permanently closed for extreme exploitation of the Diablo III economy. Knowing I didn't exploit anything, I was certain things would return to normal in a day or 2, but still submitted a ticket just in case. At the same time I reached out to my friend and asked him if he really sold gems that day to get 40B gold. Sadly, the answer was less than satisfactory - turns out someone on his list gave him 30-some billion, and it didn't come from gem sale(s). *drat*. I submitted the above information as part of my ticket as well, hoping it would solidify my case. Right? Wrong! Next response from ticket resolution was even more daunting (and more canned): The Diablo III license associated with this account was recently locked to investigate in-game economy abuse. We have completed our investigation and have sent an email to this Battle.net Account’s email address with the results of our findings and any actions taken. But wait, I didn't get an email detailing anything at all since the original 'suspension' email? Next ticket it is... Within a day or so I got a (now well known) response to my ticket: Thank you for your patience while we investigated the situation with this license. After a thorough final review of the action taken against this license, we have arrived at the same conclusion. The action will not be reversed or changed under any circumstances. We understand that you may still have concerns regarding the action, but we must reiterate that it was taken to address a violation of our policies http://us.blizzard.com/en-us/company/legal/, which all players accept before logging into the game. As this issue has been fully reviewed, it is now considered closed. If you have questions regarding a different license or issue, please feel free to contact us again. However, further inquiries regarding this issue will no longer receive a reply. And within about an hour from that, an email: The Diablo III license associated with this email address was recently locked to allow us to investigate potential in-game economy abuse. After careful review, it was determined that this license was involved with the abuse in question. Maintaining a stable, safe, and fun online-gaming experience for players is a top priority for us, and this abuse was in violation of our Diablo III Exploitation Policy (https://battle.net/support/article/200738). As a result, this game license has been permanently banned. Due to the severity of this issue, the ban for this license will not be reconsidered. Additionally, we are unable to discuss the outcomes of our investigations due to privacy concerns. Our game policies and Terms of Use are in place to help ensure a fun and fair experience for all players on Battle.net. We appreciate your understanding with regard to our need to maintain our policies, and thank you in advance for respecting our position. So I looked at the support article, and still remain baffled as to why I am banned. I didn't dupe (or exploit) anything that day. So last night I wrote a very similar support ticket (US37792294) as the post here (had to split it into five 2000-character ticket posts under the same ticket), detailing all of the above only to get a response within less than 30(!) minutes (it would probably take at least that long to read, and more to actually do research on the issue) with the following: Thank you for your continued correspondence. After an additional thorough review of the action taken against this account, we regret to inform you that we have arrived at the same conclusion and the account action will not be removed under any circumstances. While we understand that you may have concerns regarding the nature or application of the policies related to this account action, we must reiterate that it is the result of a breach of the Terms of Use (http://us.blizzard.com/en-us/company/legal/wow_tou.html), which all players accept before accessing the game environment. As this issue has been reviewed by multiple representatives, it is now considered closed. Should you have any questions regarding a different account or issue, please feel free to contact us again. However, further inquiries regarding this issue will no longer receive a reply. I don't know about that ^^^, but that looks like WoW ToU to me? I don't even have a WoW license on my account. So what's going on? Besides not getting an answer to why I was banned in the first place. TL;DR #2. I feel my account is wrongfully banned. From what I am able to gather, many actual dupers are rolled back and playing (with or without BoA items, but still playing!) and yet I am banned. I didn't dupe (not even enough gold to do so), didn't sell anything on RMAH that day. Link to my main char on banned account: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/redsolar-1792/hero/4091555 http://www.diabloprogress.com/hero/redsolar-1792/NeriaM/4091555 My current char (mostly borowed gear from a good friend) which is posting this http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/shadowguard-1378/hero/33384814 I am still debating whether to keep playing, but for now I am not losing hope of getting my old account (~top 300 pre-ban US Solo MP10 Uber geared/non-glass-canon monk) back. | ||

| @ Shadow, although I'm not at liberty for going into detail here about the account issue, please know that I did look at the account itself and have verified that the issue was previously reviewed by our administrators. I am going to have the account looked at again and we will reach out to you again later in the day. As a general note in regards to account actions, we ask that for all inquiries or appeal requests that our players use the link provided in the email notification which concerns the account action. For general inquiries about accounts, we encourage you to use the support portal which provides our phone information as well as allows you to live chat with our representatives during our normal phone hours. I will be locking the thread as we will not discuss the account actions in the forums themselves. I sincerely thank you for your understanding. Regards, Araxom Blizzard CS | ||
