| When the game first came out, I had no problems what so ever. But I've been getting progressively worse lag lately. I think it started around patch 1.0.5 or somewhere around there? I was just trying to be patient and wait for blizz to fix it... But yea, I'm tired of waiting now. I asked around, and a few of my friends have had the same issue as well. The responses i've gotten all hint towards the fact that I use a nvidia geforce graphics card. Has that been confirmed, and is there any solution to it? I used to be able to run the game on max settings with little to no lag, but now I'm playing on the lowest possible settings, with an annoying amount of lag (sometimes unbearable). It's at the worst when I first start up the game for the day. When I run into my first group of monsters, the game practically freezes for about 5 seconds. It eventually smooths out as I continue to play. But today it's been horrible, I've been playing on and off, and right now it's at the point where every other mob it's freezing for 5 seconds. My computer specs: Intel i7-2600k CPU 3.4GHz 4GB DDR3 RAM NVidia GeForce GTX650 1GB I'll post dxdiag if you need it, I just didn't want to make the post super long(er). | ||

| Shortround, Could you post your D3Prefs.txt file as well please? It's located in the My Documents\Diablo III folder. | Shortround, I'd like to try a couple of things and see which, if either, has an effect on the performance. Try booting in selective startup once and playing like that for a little while and see if it still under-performs. http://us.blizzard.com/support/article/backgroundapps Lower the resolution way down, say to 800 x 600. | Shortround, No, that allows you select which other programs and services start when Windows is booted. We want to limit that to just what Windows needs and not have ANY other apps you've installed running. | Shortround, The next recommendation may not be easy for you to accomplish but it's time to swap out your video card for another one and see if the problem remains or is resolved.
