| I have an ASUS G73SW laptop, with i7-2630QM processor, 10GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX 460M and Win 7 64 home premium. I get lag so bad the game is barely playable, and not enjoyable. Lag in town, lag in dungeons, lag in open world areas, lag everywhere. The stuttering, game-stopping lag. Things I have tried: -Setting every game setting to 0, limiting FPS, lowering resolution, turning sound off/on, changing sound options. -Reinstalling -Changing priority in task manager -Changing affinity to every combination of 1, 2, 3, and 4 processors. -Using outside programs such as 'GameBooster', Throttle something, and RunFirst. -Using different internet connections and signal boosters -Updating and rolling back drivers (just once back) I'm at a loss here. I feel I've done everything in my power that I feel comfortable doing with the vague instructions given for things like registry editing and overclocking. I've read hundreds of posts and nothing has helped so far, except the FIRST time I ran Runfirst, it booted up perfectly and played amazingly for a solid 20 mins, and then just hit a wall and went back to lagging. Any suggestions? | ||

| KnirpsLyn , Lag generally relates to high latency due to connection issues. It sounds like you're experiencing poor framerates and stuttering instead. I'd like to see your dxdiag info to start. You can find this information in the Direct X Diagnostic Tool: Click on Start Click on Run Type in: dxdiag (In Vista, type dxdiag in the search field) Hit Enter or OK Click on the Save All Information button at the bottom, and create a dxdiag text file, and copy and paste it ALL here. Could you also post your D3Prefs.txt file? It's located in the My Documents\Diablo III folder. Lastly, I'd like to see how hot your cpu and gpu are getting while playing. Download and run HWMonitor from: http://www.cpuid.com/downloads/hwmonitor/1.21-setup.exe Now start the game and let it run several minutes. Then exit or alt-tab out and see what the highest temperature is that was reached for both the cpu and gpu. | ||

| KnirpsLyn, I'd like to see what effect if any a few changes I can suggest might have on your in-game performance. Verify the power profile setting in Windows is set to High Performance and not a power-saving mode. Use the AC adapter when playing, never just the battery. Disable the fps limiters first by unchecking them in the in-game menu. Enable Vertical Sync. Lower the # of sound channels to use to 32 or 16. revert to Nvidia's 306.97 release video drivers. http://www.nvidia.com/object/notebook-win8-win7-winvista-64bit-306.97-whql-driver.html | ||

| KnirpsLyn, Could you reset the Nvidia Control Panel to the factory default settings? They provide a button to do it all at once. Also, try booting in selective startup once and playing like that for a little while and see if it still happens. If possible, since you've made so many changes to things, I'd prefer it if you could go back and set anything you changed back to what the factory setting was.
