| So when Diablo 3 first came out I installed it and played it just fine without any problems. Got bored pretty quick with it and stopped. A friend of mine at work convinced me to give it another shot so I reinstalled it. However, now when I play, doesn't matter which character, every 3-12 minutes my graphics card goes hinky my screen goes black and takes 30s-1m to come back up if it doesn't just outright crash the game. I have updated my drivers, I don't use SLI, and I am running a GeForce GTS 250. A bit old, I know, but to date has ran EVERYTHING I have thrown at it. This is the first time I have had issues and it is ONLY with this game. WoW works just fine. Starcraft 2 works just fine. Dead Space 3, Tomb Raider, every other game I have works JUST FINE. How do i fix Diablo 3 to work like the rest? | ||

| T081a5, Can you post some information about your computer? You can find this information in the Direct X Diagnostic Tool: Click on Start Click on Run Type in: dxdiag (In Vista, type dxdiag in the search field) Hit Enter or OK Click on the Save All Information button at the bottom, and create a dxdiag text file, and copy and paste it ALL here. Could you also post your D3Prefs.txt file? It's located in the My Documents\Diablo III folder. | ||

| T081a5, Could you try using Nvidia's 306.97 driver release instead of the 314.22 ones you have now? They may be more stable. http://www.nvidia.com/object/win8-win7-winvista-64bit-306.97-whql-driver.html When installing them, use the Custom and Clean Install options, installing just the graphic drivers and none of the optional components. | ||

| T081a5, Your video card may be overheating while playing the game which could cause the symptoms. Download and run HWMonitor from: http://www.cpuid.com/downloads/hwmonitor/1.21-setup.exe Now start the game and run around for several minutes. Then exit or alt-tab out and see what the highest temperature is that was reached for the gpu (video card) | ||
