Let me give a little background information before I get to the main point.

I'm using WIndows 7 64 bit, 4 gigs of ram I7 processor, I have Norton 360 as a firewall, and from what I can tell it "likes" blizzard programs and applications.

Before I got this error, I was getting problems updating the Blizzard update agent. I was reading the thread on it earlier, and I tried most of what the blue posts recommended. When those did not work I thought that maybe uninstalling my game and reinstalling it would address my issue. However, that seemed to be a step backwards, and now I cannot even install my game.

When I try to load up the disk, it will get some progress, then ultimately, just start to hang, and then finally it will give me the error message "BLZAPPBTS00007."

I've been to the troubleshooting page, and have tried the recommendations found there, to no success.

I'm all out of ideas on how to fix this problem and any help would be appreciated.

Try this:

1. Make sure that Windows is set to show hidden files.

Here's how to do that:

-Windows Vista/7

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Show-hidden-files

-Windows 8

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/show-hidden-files-in-windows-8/

2. Navigate to the C:\ProgramData folder and delete the Battle.net folder and the Blizzard Entertainment folder.
3. Launch Diablo III as an admin by right clicking on the launcher and selecting "Run as admin".

Let me know what happens.

Have you tried uninstalling Norton? If you'd be willing to try, I'd remove it temporarily to see if that helps. You'll want to use the Norton Removal tool to ensure it's removed properly.

When you click on the link scroll down to Step 2, click on the orange download button and save the download to the desktop. Once saved go ahead and run the program, and follow the on screen steps.

1. Did you use the AVG Removal tool to uninstall AVG? If not, there may still be some AVG files in the system that could be interfering.

2. What version of Windows do you have installed?

3. Are you using a wireless connection? If you are, can you try connecting directly to the modem, so that you are also not connecting to the router?
