| Now that we know the AH is going and we've either rejoiced or vented our fury, it would be good to hear what ideas are floating around the community for new trading options once the AH is down. I've seen some ideas in these forums and liked a mixture of what people have to offer. I like the sound of having a trading area, a little like the separate area we can go for brawling, except somewhere we can access in larger numbers. Much like a communal chill out zone where we can chat, show off characters and also trade. Social: I think many of us can agree that the entire in-game social aspect of Diablo 3 could do with a bit of an overhaul. The chat box in the bottom corner of our screens isn't great, yes maybe handy in-game for keeping messages out of your face and in a convenient position while playing, but I think in general we need to open up more of the social side of the game. Obviously D3 isn't an MMO and I don't know how feasible it is to have an open communal zone where we can go (actually walk into with our characters) and chat with other players, show off our characters and make trades. I'm guessing there will have to be limits of numbers of players able to enter a zone, maybe 100 and no skills can be used... For social aspects you could have different areas for different related discussions. A pub type building for the Demon Hunters, a cave for the Barbarians, a massive hut for the Witch Docs etc. Trade post: This could be set-up in a trade stall area in the social zone and would also open up trade post on a huge trade post board that is able to be searched out of game or out of the social zone. This board could stay open for 1 hour after posting and people can make offers of items (multiple if they wish) or gold or whatever. You can have multiple offers submitted for your post and after 1 hour or even before the hour is up you can accept an offer. You then meet the person in game and make the trade or perhaps even better you can accept the trade on the posting board and the game swaps the items for you... This may sound a lot like the AH, but the difference is you must be logged into Diablo 3 to make these trades on the trading post, you can offer any item or number of items for the trade and it only lasts 1 hour from initial post. This will mean the economy wont be flooded with great items at arms reach all day long like the AH offered, so drops wont need to be reduced or controlled to stop the economy being flooded with items. These are just brain dumped ideas ive had, mixed from what ive read on these forums and would like to see myself. I think there are better ideas out there and i'd like to hear what the community would like to see. Post up what kind of trading and or social system you would like to see in the game and lets discuss :) Good idea for a thread, so I am blue-tagging it. This thread will no doubt be very interesting for us to follow, so post away people :-) I want an AH. Once the existing Auction Houses have been removed, you should not expect them to be replaced with new or different ones. We realise that some people will miss the Auction Houses, but we feel that removing them it is best for the game. If you have any thoughts on good alternatives to the Auction Houses, please feel free to share them :-) | ||

i just wana find upgrade by myself.. not by ah or any other trade method... is that that hard to make One of the goals of "Loot 2.0" is to address exactly that, so those who prefer self-found gameplay will likely be quite pleased when the new loot system is implemented, but that is not really what this thread is about. This thread is about what kind of trading and or social system you would like to see in the game :-) | ||

If anyone still has ideas to give on this subject then please do, the devs and community team will be interesting in hearing the ideas we have and seeing what the people want. Just quoting this for emphasis :-) Reaper of Souls is still being developed, and we are very interested to hear what people have to say about the things we have shared about the expansion so far. We would not be asking for your feedback if we were not interested in it :-) | ||
