Mouse Macro chats or disables health bars(1)Category: Technical SupportAugust-29-2013 3:10 PM PDT (9 years ago) Go to Blizzard forum post
Hey there :)

First off, I've spent more than an hour trying to fix this myself, so don't hate me for my post here, it's pretty damn specific to my case!

I have a problem. Seeing as I'm finally getting a CM Wizard running, I find it really annoying to spam my buttons, and I've read online that using a Naga mouse and it's keybinds is alright to use. Also read that the Diablo 3 gaming mouse was allowed.

I then assumed this would be the same case for my current mouse: World of Warcraft, MMO Gaming Mouse Legendary Edition. I assume this would/should be correct?

I've tried mapping a "123" and "112233" in a few macros, then tried them on all buttons but the 2 primary ones. Depending on which macro/mapping I use it tries to either write the '123'/'112233' in the chat-window or it enables/disables monster health bars.

I check the keybinds in-game, and enable/disable monster health bars are only bound to 'v'. The chat thing is a huge question in my head; no idea where that comes in. And my mouse buttons are M1-M11, not seeing them anywhere but for the left and right-click.

Anyway, it doesn't work, so how do I get it to work? And to complicate things further, I'm playing on a Mac OS 10.7.5.

If there's a different way of doing this, then tell me. Scripts are suggested everywhere, but I have no idea how to use that, and I'm not sure if that's even allowed, so I haven't tried. And everywhere they just say "use this script"... It's like handing a 20 euro bill to a baby; it has no idea what to do with it.

Finally, found a blue post stating that it's allowed:

I think you should probably read that thread again Droololol.

I can not give you permission to use any such device or application

No one's going to be banned for using a macro keyboard or any macro-capable device or application as long as they don't use them to automate gameplay

I'll lock this now though as it's not really a technical support issue that we can assist with.
