Is there a way..(1)Category: Technical SupportFebruary-20-2013 2:25 PM PST (10 years ago) Go to Blizzard forum post
To transfer my digital copy of diablo 3 that's been installed on my windows 7 pc since release, to my new laptop with windows 8 that I got today without totally redownloading the game. My internet is currently 5GB of data/month via a 4g Verizon hotspot. Obviously since (right now) I've used 4gb it would be cheaper for me to go to the store and buy a fresh copy and install it that way. That just seems extremely excessive though, and I'm not sure if I could even login to a boxed copy with my account since it's already linked to a digital copy.

Infamous,

You can just copy the installed game from one to the other if you have access to an external drive able to hold the game. That could be a USB hard drive or a USB flash drive. My game folder is just under 12 gigs so you'd probably need at least a 16 gig drive. IF the two computers share a LAN connection, you can just copy across it as well.

Infamous,

If you have a LAN setup, you'd be able to share one PC's drive with the other and then just copy the folder across. An external drive would be faster than trying to set up a LAN if you're not already familiar with doing so.
