| Still sad about the Q&A but feel better now that 1.07 is released. [Post edited one time, last edit by Azodeus#1244 at February-13-2013 5:00 AM PST (10 years ago)] | ||

Posted by: MasterJay Lol I actually think they were being really nice to her and she's just not used to posters actually having the ability to downvote. She really shouldn't be surprised at all. If players could downvote CM stuff here all her posts would be auto buried, are you kidding me? Sorry more trolling here, waaaay more than even reddit. They're just honest over there. I've no issues with being downvoted -- if you disagree with what I said, go ahead and use the tools you're given to express your disagreement. In terms of mechanics, the only downside to downvoting is that it buries the post (and thus any information contained within). That becomes an issue when you already have a lot of players complaining they can't find information from Blizzard, and when the whole point of me jumping into the thread to begin with was to try to provide some clarity and answer a few follow-up questions. Like I said in one of my posts in that chain, there are pros and cons to every system, and replies from Blizzard getting buried is just one of the cons you learn to live with when posting on Reddit (beyond that, I think karma is great). I'm a pretty active Redditor in my spare time, and I feel like downvotes shouldn't be arbitrary since they have the power to remove posts from an entire conversation, so I was encouraging people who were clicking that button to let me know what they actually disagreed with. I can't take "well, I got 10 downvotes" to the developers. I can't also really make meaningful changes to the Q&A format using only the number of downvotes I got as feedback. I made a lot of different points in the post that was being downvoted, and I just wanted to know which of those points people took issue wish. That's not naivety, that's just doing my job. :) Posted by: jenpeezey She acted surprised! High heavens forbid I encourage people to think about why they're downvoting a post. ;) [Post edited one time, last edit by Lylirra at February-12-2013 11:24 PM PST (10 years ago)]

Posted by: Aphraell And there I was thinking the Wizard forums was my Sanctuary from Blue posters. I aim to misbehave. (Or something along those lines.)

You sound like my wife. All talk!~ I could, you know, suspend you from the forums or something? ...I'm actually really bad at this whole deviant thing. :(

Ma'am yes ma'am, and I think you do a great job - initially I just think you were taking developer angst too personally, just my opinion on how it looked thanks for explaining :) In most cases, angst is just a synonym for passion, and it's hard to get upset about that. I think it's great that players have such strong opinions about a video game AND have ways to express those opinions directly to people responsible for creating it. Apathy is actually far more unnerving for me (but that's just imo).

Posted by: s8a8i14 anyway, while she is here anyone want to come up with a Wizard Wish list she can pass on to the Devs? I'm just chillin' at home, keeping an eye on this issue, but if you want to round up your "top 5 awesome Wizard threads that Lylirra should read," I'm game. I'm betting that I've already seen and passed on most of the feedback (we read the class forums often, even if we don't typically post in them) but hey! You might surprise me. (PS - Try to surprise me.)

Posted by: MasterJay only guy is Grimiku, not sure about this new hardcore CM assuming guy though by the posts. Araxom? He's a kickass Customer Support representative who just happens to love Hardcore. Not sure if you visit other communities (like Reddit, for example), but you might see him providing assistance and just generally being awesome over there as well. We've been exploring different ways to promote of all our CS self-help options and reach players who may not know how to contact us, and connecting with the community in places where CS has generally been absent is a part of that project. Be kind to him if you see him around! [Post edited one time, last edit by Lylirra at February-12-2013 11:48 PM PST (10 years ago)]

Posted by: jenpeezey Getting those people to think about why they downvoted you is a waste of your time. That's /r/diablo for you. Yeah, but I did get a lot of good responses after asking, which was my goal all along. So mission = accomplished. :) By the way, still waiting for those "top 5 awesome Wizard threads that Lylirra should read." Don't let me down now!
