| Quoting myself from the other post, just to make sure this gets noticed. Its Radeon HD 5800 (although had shown as 5850 before updating the driver if that matters). Im having same problem, driving me crazy. just updated driver to latest one (been playing on same computer since may without issue). Worst part is that i was prompted by ptr to update my driver. now because i did what the ptr message says, i cant login and play. when i try to login i get the error mentioned in your link. when i hit escape the diablo emblem comes up (giving appearance im going into game) but then i never do. If i open task manager shows diablo as a process, but doesnt show it in the applications portion. Its still showing as running in processes and the cpu usage percentage is changing, so diablo is open in some form (if i try to open again i get message diablo 3 is already running). please help | ||

| Justinian, Could you try what's described in the following two articles please? https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/deleting-the-battlenet-cache-folder-pc?utm_source=internal&utm_medium=support_forums&utm_campaign=BlizzardCS https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/deleting-battlenet-tools-folder-pc?utm_source=internal&utm_medium=support_forums&utm_campaign=BlizzardCS If that doesn't resolve it, I'll want to see your dxdiag info please but only if the above doesn't fix it. You can find this information in the Direct X Diagnostic Tool: Click on Start Click on Run Type in: dxdiag (In Vista, type dxdiag in the search field) Hit Enter or OK Click on the Save All Information button at the bottom, and create a dxdiag text file, and copy and paste it ALL here. Could you also post your D3Prefs.txt file? It's located in the My Documents\Diablo III folder. | ||

| Justinian , Looks like when you updated the video drivers, it didn't "take" as it's not showing any of the correct info. I suggest trying to install them again. You should be using these: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/radeonaiw_vista64.aspx | ||

| Justinian, You'll need to keep trying to install the drivers until they install correctly. You might need to use a driver cleaner app too in order to get any old driver remnants out of the system. It shouldn't look like this when you do your dxdiag and it shouldn't be giving you an error when trying to run dxdiag either.
