high end items - newest hotfix(1)Category: GeneralJuly-31-2013 5:43 AM PDT (8 years ago) Go to Blizzard forum post
Well, in my opinion this was not a very thought through hotfix. but im not here to complain or make mutiple threads about the same issue.

im here to talk to you about high end items. i logg on, i search for mempo of twilight with 6% crit. there are only int ones on the gold AH now. with the latest change im now forced to play with the real money AH to get a decent mempo. its in my eyes downright absurd.

Yes, this was to counteract gold selling on third party sites, thats good and all. but i do reckon this ruins the game more. Atleast before you were not forced to shop for real money, THIS IS A GAME. now youre force into pay to win. we all know what everyone thinks about pay to win.

Before this hotfix you werent forced to participate in the real money ah to get good gear, now all the rich people instant bought all good gear from gold ah and put it on real money AH, screwing the game up even more.

if you gonna devalue gold, atleast increase the gold cap on gold AH so that normal players like myself can actually progress in gear, dat would be great. Aint no rich parents around buying me gear.. :o

ok there were abit of complaining here, but this needs to reach out there.

They said they are thinking about raising the 2b cap, but that involves some 'technical difficulties'.

This is correct. Due to the way data is stored in our database, it is not possible to simply raise the cap by changing the number 2 to something higher.

We do want to fix this issue though, but it is not something that will be done right away.

The train wreck continues... It saddens me how much the AH is discussed when it comes to a game that was supposed to be about the drops. All I've seen since release are band aid fixes for this game when it really needs open heart surgery. I hope the inevitable expansion hits the right buttons for the mass of players you lost with this blunder.

The game is about the drops, but we will of course like to make that even more so in the future. We have mentioned before that we would like Diablo III players to be excited about their next drop instead of just going "meh", and different ways to achieve this is being explored currently... but we also need to look at the game's economy since that is such a big part of the game for better or worse.
